At the N2 Company, our vision is "to be the most respected franchise in the nation, to share stories that build community, and to provide meaningful work for our team".
About Us
The N2 Company is America’s leading publisher of community magazines. We’re proud of our award-winning media brands – they reach millions of readers in nearly every state and help great businesses connect with ideal clients – but we’re even more proud to provide supportive and fulfilling remote work opportunities for our people.
About The Role
As our HR Coordinator, you will report to our HR Manager and play a key role in helping N2 operate as a compliant, data-driven, and people-focused organization. This role sits at the intersection of HR compliance, compensation administration, and people analytics, ensuring that our HR processes are accurate, well-managed, and informed by meaningful data.
You’ll support critical People Operations programs, including: multi-state employment compliance, HR reporting, performance management systems, and onboarding new team members. You’ll also partner across teams to help implement and improve HR processes, systems, and reporting that enable our leaders to make informed decisions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, maintaining compliance, improving systems, and ensuring operational excellence behind the scenes.
This is a fully remote position. Interviews will be conducted via phone and video call. The starting salary is $50,000, with opportunities for growth and advancement.
The Role in Action
- Assist the HR Manager with compliance across multiple states, supporting required filings, audits, and regulatory processes such as EEO reporting, ACA lookback, paid leave tracking, salary threshold monitoring, and employment posting requirements.
- Own the onboarding experience through pre-boarding logistics (background checks, drug testing, I-9), new-hire communication, state compliance, system setup, and orientation training throughout the first 30–60 days.
- Manage and maintain HR data integrity across systems, including Paylocity and monday.com, ensuring employee records and compliance documentation are accurate and up to date.
- Assist with performance management cycles, including system setup, reporting, and data integrity monitoring to support effective annual and mid-year reviews.
- Assist our HR Manager and Benefits Specialist with prep, planning, and execution of our annual Open Enrollment.

We’re looking for someone who will hit the ground running with:
- 1+ year of experience in Human Resources, People Operations, or a related field.

- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- A proactive mindset with the desire to learn and grow within HR operations.
Skills and Qualities that Set You Apart:
