Bioinformatician
POSITION SUMMARY:
We’re looking for a curious, collaborative Bioinformatician to join our R&D team and help power the future of precision genomics. In this role, you’ll work with large-scale, high-throughput sequencing data to uncover insights that directly shape our next generation of genetic testing products. You’ll develop and refine computational methods, contribute to robust analytical pipelines, and partner with scientists and engineers across disciplines to turn data into discoveries that make a real impact in patient care.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Analyze and present results from complex bioinformatic and statistical pipelines to uncover meaningful biological insights.

Develop and optimize computational methods for analyzing high-throughput DNA sequencing data.

Collaborate cross-functionally with laboratory scientists, software engineers, and statisticians to design experiments and implement analytical solutions.

Support product development by integrating novel algorithms and frameworks into production-ready pipelines.

Produce high-quality written documentation, including study plans, validation reports, and scientific summaries.

Contribute to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and data integrity within a fast-paced R&D environment.

Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

MS in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Engineering, Biochemistry, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)

2+ years of hands-on experience in genome sequencing data analysis or bioinformatics research
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
-
Strong knowledge of genomics and NGS data analysis workflows (alignment, variant calling, annotation, etc.).

Proficiency with commonly used tools for NGS data exploration and analysis (e.g., samtools, bedtools, bcftools).

Solid programming skills in at least one modern language (Python strongly preferred; R, Java, or C++ a plus).

Familiarity with key genomic databases (ClinVar, gnomAD, COSMIC, or similar).

Comfortable working in Linux/Unix environments and using command-line tools.

Experience with version control systems (Git) and workflow automation frameworks (e.g., Snakemake, Nextflow) is a plus.

Familiarity with statistical analysis and visualization tools (e.g., R, Pandas, Matplotlib) preferred.

Highly collaborative team player who thrives in cross-functional scientific environments.

Curious and self-motivated — eager to explore new data types, tools, and technologies.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
