Role Summary
We are seeking a Content Marketing Specialist to play a central role in shaping and executing our marketing and communications strategy. This individual will develop and manage a steady stream of high-quality content across channels—including email campaigns, social media, blogs, recruiting materials, and event promotions—ensuring consistency, compliance, and alignment with business priorities. Working closely with internal stakeholders across the firm, this role will help translate complex ideas into clear, compelling messaging that drives engagement, supports advisor growth, and elevates our brand.
The ideal candidate is a strong writer and strategic thinker who understands how to connect content to outcomes. They are comfortable operating in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment, managing multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail. Experience in financial services or a regulated industry is a plus, along with familiarity with tools like Salesforce Marketing Cloud and social media platforms. Above all, this person is proactive, adaptable, and motivated to bring creative ideas to life while supporting both recruiting efforts and advisor-facing initiatives.
This position currently offers an onsite work schedule, with the expectation that you are in the office four (4) days per week during onsite core days. Our current onsite core days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The work schedule type and core days are subject to change with advance notification and manager discretion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Content Strategy, Creation & Management
- Develop, write, and edit a wide range of marketing content across channels, including email campaigns, social media, blogs, website copy, video scripts, presentations, and print materials.
- Manage and maintain a centralized library of marketing collateral, ensuring all materials are current, compliant, brand-aligned, and easily accessible for field use.
- Own the content calendar and coordinate with internal stakeholders to deliver timely, accurate, and strategically aligned communications.
- Analyze content performance and apply insights to continuously improve engagement and effectiveness.
Recruiting & Advisor Growth Support
- Partner with the Business Development team to develop targeted recruiting campaigns and collateral.
- Craft compelling messaging that clearly communicates ESI’s value proposition and supports advisor acquisition and growth.
Communications & Brand Alignment
- Support internal and external communications, including employee messaging, leadership updates, and strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with the National Life Communications Team and/or third party firms on press releases, announcements, and earned media opportunities.
Digital, Social & Advisor-Facing Content
- Collaborate on the development and execution of social media content aligned with ESI’s brand and priorities.
- Create co-brandable, compliant content for advisors to use within approved marketing platforms.
Event & Training Marketing
- Support the promotion of conferences, training programs, and events through invitations, registration campaigns, and follow-up communications.
- Develop marketing materials that enhance visibility, engagement, and overall event experience.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in content marketing.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress), and email marketing tools (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, MailChimp).
- Experience with social media scheduling tools and basic design platforms (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite or Canva).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the financial services industry supporting advisors or working within a broker-dealer, RIA, or insurance-based distribution model, with an understanding of advisor marketing, recruiting dynamics and compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience building and optimizing marketing journeys in platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar tools, including segmentation, personalization, and performance tracking.
- Experience supporting full campaign lifecycles—from pre-event promotion through post-event follow-up and nurture campaigns—especially in a B2B or advisor-facing environment.

Base Pay Range. The base pay range for this position is the range National Life reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors, including: prior experience and job-related knowledge; education, training and certificates; current business needs; and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances.
Additional Compensation and Benefits. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in National Life’s discretionary annual incentive programs, subject to the rules governing such programs. If hired, the employee will be in an "at-will position" and National Life reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Salary Pay Range
$56,250 - $82,500 USD
