INTRO TO POSITION
NPR is seeking an energetic and creative digital specialist to pursue philanthropic support for NPR's mission. Reporting to the Executive Director, Digital Philanthropy, the manager will coordinate and execute activities that earn revenue from NPR's digital users. The incumbent will use their deep understanding of digital user behaviors and conversion best practices to drive progress toward KPIs that support a donor-centric journey. In addition, they will use their learnings and experience to be a strong voice and thought partner in identifying and developing growth opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage interdepartmental campaigns across paid, owned, and earned media
- Write key messages, creative briefs, and technical information for teams to turn into digital fundraising materials; as needed create digital fundraising materials.
- Lead and project manage campaigns from kick-off through execution; Set goals, manage timelines, approvals, comms, and reports
- Lead meetings that drive progress and foster collaboration across teams
- Present concepts and deliverables to stakeholders and teams across the organization
- Execute data-driven digital tactics to activate users on NPR Digital platforms
- Identity and prioritize fundraising opportunities on digital platforms that acquire new supporters
- Produce high-quality, effective digital fundraising materials aimed at converting and stewarding NPR digital users
- Independently produce, monitor, and optimize automated user-facing touchpoints using audience management tools on NPR digital platforms, such as NPR.org; Support personalized and behavior driven conversion/stewardship across digital platforms
- Measure, monitor, and optimize performance across multiple channels
- Build trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders that drive digital fundraising results
- Collaborate with editorial, marketing, digital engagement, product teams to incorporate digital fundraising strategies into NPR digital experiences; Work with product owners to optimize landing pages and donations forms
- Give and receive feedback with curiosity and a learner's mindset
- As needed, work directly with Member station specialists, consultants, vendors, and agencies to optimize results
- Communicate plans and results across teams
- Cultivate and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years experience in digital marketing and/or digital fundraising
- 1+ year project managing revenue generating consumer-facing campaigns
- Experience in a news and/or non-profit organization
- Knowledge or practical experience using digital platforms to target, publish and report user activities
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to understand and use metrics to optimize performance; Demonstrated knowledge of conversion best practices
- Experience working closely with creative people, teams and freelancers
- Cultivate and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace
- Cultivate and support an inclusive and equitable workplace culture
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Hands-on experience working with CRM systems, email and social marketing tools, and analytics tools (Salesforce, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Social Flow, Google Analytics ideal)
- Experience with digital marketing automation, based on scenarios, rules, triggers, and/or conditions. Bonus: hands-on experience with Piano.io.
- A keen interest in the fundraising landscape, with knowledge of the latest trends and best practices that drive audience conversion and retention
- Basic image editing and design layout skills in Adobe, Canva or similar
- Basic social video producing and/or editing
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in work experience preferred
WORK LOCATION
- Remote Permitted: This is a remote permitted role. This role is based out of our Washington, DC office but the employee may choose to work on a remote basis from a location that NPR approves.
JOB TYPE
- This is a full time, exempt position.
COMPENSATION
Salary Range: The U.S. based anticipated salary range for this opportunity is $80,000-$92,000 plus benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salaries NPR expects to provide for new hires for the position across all US locations.
Benefits: NPR offers access to comprehensive benefits for employees and dependents. Regular, full-time employees scheduled to work 30 hours or more per week are eligible to enroll in NPR’s benefits options.
