Material Planner
SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join Nature’s Bakery team as an onsite Material Planner & Supply Planner at our Salt Lake Facility. This dual role combines the responsibilities of both material planning and supply chain management to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement and delivery of materials. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing material requirements, production schedules, and inventory while optimizing the supply plan to meet operational needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Demand Forecasting & Supply Planning: Work closely with cross-functional teams to forecast finished goods needs and create the supply plan using customer demands and inventory levels.
- Material Requirement Planning (MRP): Analyze and manage material requirements to ensure uninterrupted production. Create and maintain MRP reports to track material needs.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials, manage lead times, and maintain a reliable supplier base.
- Production Support and scheduling: Drive high level scheduling and updates depending on customer fill rate and production attainment. Ensure the timely availability of materials required for production by coordinating with manufacturing and logistics teams.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate supply chain risks by monitoring supplier performance, market trends, and disruptions in the supply chain.
- Inventory Optimization: Work to optimize inventory levels, ensuring the availability of materials without overstocking. Use data to improve accuracy and reduce waste.
- Supply Chain Reporting: Provide regular reports on supply chain performance, including inventory levels, supplier performance, and on-time delivery metrics.
- Collaboration with Production: Work closely with production and operations teams to ensure smooth execution of the production schedule, adjusting material requirements as needed.
- Collaboration with Procurement: Collaborate with the procurement department to ensure timely sourcing of materials at competitive costs.
- Problem-solving: Address and resolve any supply chain issues, such as delays, shortages, or excess stock, with proactive solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following list that follows is representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes, inventory control, and material management.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP) and MRP software.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data analysis.
