The Senior Product Manager at Nerdery plays a pivotal role in our client engagements. This leadership position requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record of driving product success. The Senior Product Manager partners with our clients to define and deliver innovative digital products and solutions that achieve critical business objectives.  This role demands a deep understanding of the product lifecycle, exceptional client management skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. 

Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy and Vision:
    • Develop and champion a compelling product vision aligned with client goals and market opportunities.
    • Define and manage the product roadmap, prioritizing features and initiatives based on business value, user needs, and competitive analysis.
    • Create and manage the product roadmap, prioritizing features and initiatives based on business value, user needs, and technical complexity.
    • Conduct market research, customer analysis, and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and inform product strategy.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure product innovation.
  • Client Partnership:
    • Cultivate strong, trusted advisor relationships with senior-level client stakeholders, acting as their trusted advisor throughout the product lifecycle.
    • Collaborate closely with clients and stakeholders to define requirements, gather feedback, and ensure product success. Ensure that the product scope is feasible given the resources and constraints of the delivery timelines. 
    • Lead client workshops and presentations to effectively communicate product strategy, gather feedback, and ensure alignment.
    • Proactively manage client expectations, address concerns, and ensure product success throughout the engagement.
    • Expertly navigate complex client organizations and influence decision-making.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership:
    • Lead and inspire cross-functional teams (business consulting, insights, analytics, technology & experience design) to deliver exceptional products.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
    • Effectively resolve conflicts and drive consensus among internal and external stakeholders.
  • Market Analysis:
    • Alone or in collaboration with Insights, conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities to inform the product strategy. 
    • Develop a deep understanding of target customer segments and their needs and align product strategy and features accordingly.
  • Product Development:
    • Define product requirements, create detailed user stories and acceptance criteria, and manage the product backlog. 
    • Oversee the product development process, ensuring adherence to Agile methodologies and best practices.
    • Drive timely delivery of high-quality products that meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Product Launch and Optimization:
    • Develop and execute the go-to-market strategy for the product launch. 
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor product performance post-launch.
    • Analyze data, gather user feedback, and drive continuous product improvement and optimization.
  • Mentorship & Thought Leadership:
    • Mentor and coach junior product managers, contributing to their professional development.
    • Share expertise and best practices, contributing to the growth of Nerdery's product management capabilities.
    • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance Nerdery's product management methodologies and frameworks.
    • Contribute to the growth of the organization by sharing best practices and developing internal frameworks and capabilities in product management.

Required Skills and Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of consulting experience in the Product space for a consulting firm or creative agency, or similar experience.
  • 10+ years of proven experience in product management, with at least 5 years in a consulting environment (consulting firm, creative agency, or similar).
  • Demonstrated success in leading and delivering complex digital product initiatives for enterprise clients.
  • Proven ability to navigate, influence, and facilitate communication between internal and external networks; experience developing and leading stakeholder relationships through establishing lasting and impactful partnerships.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, active listening, critical thinking, and presentation skills, with experience presenting to executive leadership and facilitating decision making.
  • Must be able to provide structure, be proactive, navigate ambiguity, manage stakeholders, and take responsibility for client deliverables.
  • Experience working with clients to ideate, build, launch and support enterprise digital products.
  • Experience and willingness to execute work with internal and external cross-functional teams using proven approaches and frameworks, applied to a consulting setting (including Agile, Design Thinking, and Lean Startup).

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience working with Google Cloud Platform is a strong plus
  • Experience leading client stakeholder workshops to drive alignment is a strong plus. 
  • Passion for data analysis is a plus. 
  • Prior experience working with Pricing & Promotion Engines is a plus
