About The Role

Fora is seeking a Senior Manager, Strategic Finance to build and scale our Strategic Finance function from the ground up. This is a high-impact role at a fast-growing travel startup. Reporting directly to Fora’s VP, Finance, this role is essential in shaping the company’s financial strategic direction, optimizing capital allocation, and architecting robust financial plans that empower informed, data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and lead Fora’s Strategic Finance function, establishing it as a proactive business partner to the Executive Team
  • Lead and develop our long-range financial planning & scenario modeling process,  while also playing a key role in the annual budgeting process; Build and own detailed financial and operational models, ensuring the highest quality and accuracy. 
  • Drive our capital allocation and investment strategy by establishing a rigorous, data-driven framework for evaluating significant investments (organic or inorganic), helping to deliver company-wide decision-making with data precision and strategic analysis. 
  • Partner cross-functionally with GTM, Business Unit Leads, and Product to translate business strategies into financial outcomes and strategic tradeoffs
  • Deliver M&A support and due diligence as needed for inorganic growth opportunities
  • Develop and implement core KPI dashboards and performance tracking processes to guide operational and strategic decisions

Requirements

  • Experience: 3-5+ years of progressive experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, management consulting or a strategic finance role at a high-growth technology or marketplace company.
  • Financial Modeling & Analytical Skills: Exceptional ability to build and manipulate complex, flexible, and accurate financial models from scratch for scenario planning, valuation, and ROI analysis. 
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, biases toward action, and relentlessly seeks improvement.
  • Communication & Storytelling: Proven capacity to translate complex financial data into clear, concise, and actionable insights for executive leadership and the Board.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively across functions (Product, Sales, Marketing, Engineering) to integrate financial insights into broader business decisions.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Economics, or related field.
  • Passion for Travel & Technology: Genuine interest in redefining the travel industry and building with AI‑driven tools.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to New York City

Compensation

Compensation for this role varies based on experience, with an indicative range of $140K–$180K + equity. Final compensation will depend on the level at which the candidate is hired, as we’re considering multiple levels for this role.
