As a Network Engineer, you will be instrumental in the design and implementation of LAN, WAN, and various networking solutions for our clients. . You will help deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance network infrastructures across diverse environments. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player with the ability to seamlessly integrate across various program teams.
This is a project-based remote customer-dedicated job, with a variable number of allocated hours from one month to another. The job allows flexibility, as it can be performed in out of office hours or during week-ends.
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal skills:
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage customer problems
- Must be an effective communicator
- Must have the ability to multi-task (within reason)
- Familiar with the ITIL Framework (certification is considered a plus)
- Working knowledge of ITSM ticketing systems / platforms
- Knowledge of networking concepts that pertain to LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, campus and datacenter environments
- Cisco CCNP certification or proven equivalent knowledge is preferred
- CCIE certifications are considered a plus
- Understanding of and ability to work on network devices such as multilayer switches, routers, load balancers, firewalls, access points from “enterprise grade” vendors such as Cisco, Arista, HP, Palo Alto, Viptela or open-source alternatives
- Comfortable with working in small, medium and large or distributed computer networks
- Familiar with network monitoring and management tools is considered a plus (HP OpenView, Solarwinds, PRTG, IR Prognosis etc.)
- Working knowledge of Windows Server, Linux operating systems and any orchestration tools is considered a plus
Responsibilities:
- Provide an excellent customer interface and customer satisfaction skills
- Resolve and document service request activities
- Provide support for isolating, resolving and documenting computer network issues
- Manage and communicate change scope and schedules
- Ability to work flexible hours and to cope with the pressure of peak workloads, short deadlines, and project-based work
- Ability to work out of hours and weekends on the requirements of the projects
- Ability to work with project rollouts as assigned by the customer and/or line manager
- Provide escalation support when working with carriers (ISPs)
- Engage equipment vendor technical support centers when software or hardware faults are identified
