If you're ready to help the world's best companies optimize their digital applications, we invite you to explore a career with us!

Your opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior Market Narrative Strategist  to define and elevate how New Relic tells its story.

This is an individual contributor role for someone who can operate at both strategic and execution depth. You will own the overall corporate narrative—the big story that connects our market point of view, company vision, product value, customer outcomes, and brand differentiation. You will also serve as a trusted advisor to C-level execs, and other leaders and teams across the business who shape stories of their own, from product launches and campaigns, to events, executive communications, sales messaging, customer storytelling, and thought leadership.

This role is for someone who knows that great storytelling is not decoration. It is how companies create clarity, shape markets, align teams, and move buyers. You will help ensure that every major story we tell is sharp, consistent, differentiated, and grounded in what matters most to customers and the market.

What you'll do

  • Own the corporate narrative

    • Define, evolve, and steward New Relic’s overarching narrative and messaging architecture.
    • Translate strategy, market insight, and product direction into a clear, compelling story that New Relic can rally around.
    • Ensure the New Relic narrative reflects our differentiation, aligns to our strengths, and raises the clarity with which the market understands us.

    Build the storytelling system

    • Create the frameworks, tools, and standards that help teams tell stronger stories with greater consistency.
    • Establish clear narrative guardrails, message hierarchies, story templates, and strategic messaging principles.
    • Turn storytelling from a one-off craft into a repeatable company capability.

Advise and partner across the business

    • The role sits in Product Marketing and will act as a strategic partner to Brand, Communications, Demand Gen, Sales, Product, and executives on high-stakes storytelling.
    • Guide teams on how to sharpen positioning, improve message discipline, and connect tactical work back to the broader company story.
    • Help leaders and teams turn complex ideas into simple, resonant narratives.

Shape executive and thought leadership storytelling

    • Partner with senior executives on keynote narratives, major presentations, thought leadership platforms, internal communications, and market-facing moments.
    • Develop stories that are provocative, credible, and aligned to the company’s strategic agenda.
    • Help executives sound distinct, modern, and relevant without slipping into jargon or hype.

    Lead through influence

    • Drive alignment across teams without relying on formal authority.
    • Raise the bar for narrative quality across the company through coaching, feedback, and thought partnership.
    • Be the person others seek out when the story really matters.

This role requires

  • B2B Marketing Expertise: 5+ years of experience in product marketing, product management, or sales engineering within a high-growth B2B software environment.
  • Expertise in developer tools: Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for a general audience and experience in launching products aimed at developers,
  • Strategic Communication: A talent for simplifying complex technical concepts for a general audience and a history of building consensus in fast-paced, evolving environments.
  • Cloud-Native Fluency: A deep understanding of the modern software ecosystem, its technologies, and monitoring platform solutions.
  • Partnership Mindset: A proven ability to build strong, inclusive relationships across engineering, sales, and executive leadership.
  • Market Curiosity: Experience positioning technical products to both the hands-on users and the economic decision-makers who support them.

Bonus points if you have

  • Direct experience in the Observability, APM, or software development sectors.
  • A background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Advanced experience (8+ years) in technical pre-sales, consulting, or product management.
  • Familiarity with open source monitoring technologies.

Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
