What you'll do:
NinjaTrader is a fast-growing fintech operating in a regulated environment, where security is critical to our success. We are seeking a Security Operations Analyst to join our Security team. Reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Security & IT, you will play a key role in protecting our infrastructure, data, and users in a regulated financial services environment. This is a hands-on role focused on monitoring, investigation, and response, while also helping to mature our security processes as the company scales.

In this role you will:
- Monitor & respond – Perform daily SIEM monitoring, triage alerts, and escalate incidents as needed
- Vulnerability management – Run scans, analyze results, and work with engineering/ops to drive remediation
- Threat detection & phishing analysis – Investigate suspicious activity, review phishing attempts, and respond to reported malicious emails
- Security ticket handling – Manage the security ticket queue, support triage, and ensure timely resolution
- Compliance & risk support – Assist with third-party vendor risk assessments, audits, and evidence collection for regulatory requirements
- Continuous learning – Stay sharp on the latest attack techniques, tools, and defensive best practices
What you'll need:
- 3+ years of experience in a security operations, SOC, or incident response role
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and core security concepts (vulnerabilities, threats, risks, attack vectors)
- Basic knowledge of security concepts – vulnerabilities, threats, risks, and potential attack vectors
- Basic knowledge of security tools – firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM, endpoint detection and response, and common vulnerability management tools
- Possess a current security certification, such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), ISC2 Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), GIAC GISF (Information Security Fundamentals), or another industry-accepted equivalent
- Analytical and detail-oriented, with strong communication skills and ability to partner across teams
- Experience in regulated industries (finance, fintech, healthcare) a plus
- Comfortable working in an in-office role at a regulated financial services company
Compensation:
The salary range for this role will be $115,000.00 - $130,000.00 USD. In addition, this position will also receive an annual target bonus of 8%. Bonus pay at NinjaTrader is based on individual performance (50%) as well as company/team performance (50%).
Salary and bonus earnings are only two components of the total compensation package offered by NinjaTrader. NinjaTrader offers a 401K plan through ADP under which the company will match up to 3.5% of employee contributions. Annual paid time off allowance accrues at a rate of 18 days per year (some positions may qualify for more) plus seven paid holidays.
Location:
This role is based in Chicago, IL. We are not open to remote candidates for this role
Hybrid:
For Chicago-based employees, we follow a hybrid work schedule: In-office Tuesday through Thursday, with remote work on Mondays and Fridays. In addition to these weekly remote days, we offer:
- 20 additional flex remote days annually
- 5 Company Wide Office-Optional weeks tied to major holidays
