We are currently fundraising for the 5th fund and anticipate to launch a new fund every 3 years.

We thrive on a culture of Together, Open, Decisive, and Optimistic (TODO). This means valuing every team member's contribution, fostering open communication, and embracing a proactive, flat organizational structure where your ideas and impact matter more than your title. If you're a self-starter who believes in collaboration and making a tangible difference, you'll feel right at home.

Your Mission

As our Finance Manager, you will be the central link between our inhouse Bookkeeper / Financial Administrator and the Head of Finance, operating within a lean, high-performing finance team of three professionals reporting to the CFO.

Your mission is to ensure financial rigor, accuracy, and insight across the organization while driving efficient processes, high-quality reporting, and scalable finance operations. You will combine hands-on execution with review, coaching, and coordination, acting as a trusted partner to senior leadership in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.

This role is ideal for someone with a background in Big 4 Transaction Services / Consulting or similar environments, who thrives on complexity, tight deadlines, and delivering high-quality outputs with precision.

What You’ll Do – Financial Management & Control

  • Act as the day-to-day finance lead, overseeing bookkeeping and financial administration across multiple entities.
  • Review and validate bookkeeping outputs (AP, AR, bank reconciliations, intercompany transactions, fixed assets).
  • Own the month-end close process, ensuring timely, accurate closes including accruals, provisions, and adjustments.
  • Prepare and review management reporting, financial statements, and variance analyses for leadership and the CFO.
  • Ensure strong financial controls, documentation standards, and audit readiness at all times.
  • Serve as the primary contact for external accountants, auditors, and advisors, coordinating information flow and responses.
  • Continuously improve finance processes, templates, and workflows to support scale and efficiency.

What You’ll Do – Analysis, Reporting & Decision Support

  • Deliver clear, structured financial insights to support decision-making (performance tracking, cost analysis, forecasting).
  • Support budgeting, reforecasting, and long-range planning in collaboration with the Head of Finance and CFO.
  • Build and maintain advanced Excel and PowerPoint deliverables for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leverage foundational analytics tools and/or database interaction (e.g. Power BI, SQL-based tools) to enhance reporting and automation.
  • Translate complex financial data into concise, executive-ready outputs.

What You’ll Do – Payroll & HR Finance Oversight

  • Oversee outsourced payroll providers (Netherlands and international employment platforms).
  • Review and validate payroll inputs and outputs, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely approvals.
  • Coordinate payroll calendars, changes, and escalations in collaboration with HR and leadership.
  • Support HR-related financial topics such as headcount reporting, compensation analysis, and workforce cost tracking.

What You’ll Do – Team Collaboration & Leadership

  • Act as the functional bridge between the inhouse Bookkeeper / Financial Administrator and senior finance leadership.
  • Review work, provide guidance, and help elevate the quality and consistency of finance outputs.
  • Ensure clear task allocation, deadlines, and follow-up within the finance team.
  • Contribute to shaping a high-performance, detail-driven finance culture.

Who You Are

  • High-performing finance professional with experience in demanding, fast-paced environments (e.g. Big 4 Transaction Services/Support, consulting, (internal) audit, or comparable roles).
  • Strong foundation in financial accounting, reporting, and control, with the ability to zoom in on details while keeping the bigger picture in mind.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; comfortable producing polished, decision-ready materials.
  • Foundational experience with analytics tools, BI platforms, or database interaction, or a strong willingness to deepen these skills.
  • Structured, precise, and quality-driven, with a keen eye for detail and consistency.
  • Comfortable operating as a hands-on manager, balancing execution, review, and coordination.
  • Self-starting and resilient, able to prioritize under pressure and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Strong communicator who can interact effectively with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and service providers
(Dutch proficiency is a plus, given interaction with Dutch authorities and providers).

What We Offer

  • Professional Growth: This is a full-time, central position within NLC’s finance team and sets you up for a future CFO role. Provide full scope finance the opportunity to take on more responsibility outside of the Finance team, including more hands-on interaction with our venture portfolio and support in the IPO / trade sale of NLC in years to come.
  • High Impact, Execution Focus: Your contribution will be key in ensuring top-tier reporting to investors and shareholders (both current and prospective, involving support with due diligence) as well as compliance with dutch laws.
  • Collaboration & Exposure: You’ll report directly to NLC’s Head of Finance & Data & Analytics and work closely with colleagues across the business and fund operations team (a.o. CFO, Head of Fund Operations, Risk, Impact & Compliance Officer, Fund controller).
