Sales Development Representative (Fintech/Payments)
Join our growing fintech company as a Sales Development Representative driving high quality meetings for our sales team. Due to our growth, we are looking for high-energy, driven professionals who are self-starters, and are passionate about a career in corporate sales.
As a Sales Development Representative, you will be a part of a team that will actively reach out to our target market through inbound and outbound leads utilizing Salesforce and outbound prospecting tools (ZoomInfo and LinkedIn Sales Navigator).
A Day in the Life:
- Prospect, educate, and qualify new business prospects and marketing-generated leads to create sales-ready opportunities by scheduling meetings for the sales team
- Make 100+ calls and send 60+ personalized emails per day
- Create and prioritize target account lists within a defined territory or vertical
- Actively manage day and activities to engage new and existing leads through follow-up communications (phone calls, emails, and sales cadences)
- Identify, qualify, sort, and track leads
- Follow the established pre-sales guidelines, and develop your phone and email process to nurture and qualify leads using Salesforce CRM to document prospect interaction and manage your leads
- Develop, implement, and maintain daily plans to maximize phone time and ability to schedule meetings
- Reach and exceed key performance indicators on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis - quarterly quota of 120 meetings (10 qualified meetings per week)
- Conduct high level conversations with senior executives and software developers in prospect accounts - ask effective questions to investigate prospect needs and qualify
- Maintain knowledge of product, market conditions and competitive activities
- Learn from your teammates, contribute positively, and sharpen your product knowledge and sales skills
- Participate in regular sales training and team meetings, sharing best practices and continuously improving sales skills
Expectations for Success:
- Successful sales development representative will have strong phone experience in B2B, SaaS, technology sales
- You don’t hit quota because it’s expected, you blow past quota because it’s who you are
- Self-motivated, creative, reliable, results-driven, solution-oriented; competitive and driven to succeed
- Crisp written communication and fluency of expression
- Solid computer skills including Salesforce or comparable CRM
- Excellent references (recent and relevant)
- Prior experience with cold calling
- Proven track record of consistent quota attainment and achievement of KPIs
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask, take initiative, prioritize, and manage time effectively

Attendance within the Cape Town office for US Working Hours is required for this role. Office location: Cape Town, V&A.
