Business Development Manager (Fintech/Payments)

NMI is excited to announce that we are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive growth and expand our footprint across the U.S. If you’re a dynamic, results-driven sales professional with a passion for building relationships and closing deals in the payments industry, we want to hear from you!

As a Business Development Manager, you will take on a “hunter” sales role, focusing on new business acquisition and partner expansion. This role involves building and managing a strong pipeline, negotiating deals, and successfully driving revenue growth by acquiring new payment professionals, banks, and ISVs.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Acquire new partner relationships to expand market coverage and drive profitable revenue growth.
  • Achieve/exceed assigned sales quotas and performance goals through strategic partner recruitment and new business acquisition.
  • Evaluate market opportunities and identify gaps in coverage, acquiring partners where needed.
  • Proactively manage a targeted prospect list, focusing on high-value opportunities for both short- and long-term success.
  • Lead negotiations and manage complex decision-making processes to close deals and secure new partnerships.
  • Overcome objections and position NMI’s solutions effectively to ensure successful partner onboarding and revenue generation.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and influence industry norms through participation in relevant organizations and events.
  • Provide strategic insights by relaying partner and customer feedback to inform product development and business strategies.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of NMI products, software, and services to effectively communicate value propositions.
  • Utilize Salesforce.com to track and report sales activities, pipeline progress, and account management updates.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to contribute to NMI’s overall growth and success.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 3+ years of sales experience with a strong focus on new customer or channel partner acquisition.
  • Proven ability to generate new revenue and consistently meet or exceed sales quotas in a hunter-focused sales role.
  • Experience in the payments or software products industry is a plus but not required.

  • Strong business acumen with a focus on achieving company growth objectives.
  • Cold calling and prospecting expertise – understands the value of proactive outreach.
  • Ability to target high-value opportunities based on potential profitability and success probability.
  • Relationship-building skills – quickly develop trust with key decision-makers and executives.
  • Ability to effectively communicate product benefits and demonstrate real-world value to partners and end users.
  • Strong negotiation and objection-handling skills to navigate complex deals.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce.com and Microsoft Office applications.
