Finance Analyst

New York City, New York
NMI is a PE-backed fintech processing billions in annual payments volume across three lines of business — Gateway, Merchant Central, and Payments — with a newly built data infrastructure and an executive team actively investing in AI-native finance. We're hiring an FP&A Analyst to join a tight, three-person FP&A team rebuilt around clear lanes and real ownership. This is a uniquely broad seat for an early-career analyst. You'll partner with our Revenue FP&A Manager on the full revenue book (Gateway, VAS, Merchant Central, Payments, and commissions) and with our Sr. Financial Analyst on financial operations (opex, balance sheet, cash flow, and vendor management).

Your day may span cohort economics in the morning and a cash walk in the afternoon. You'll report to the VP of Finance. The exposure and learning curve are the point.

What You'll Do

With our Revenue FP&A Manager:
  • Customer cohort analysis, take rate work, and implied rate decomposition across the revenue book.
  • Commissions calculation, reporting, and support for plan design and automation workstreams.
  • Pipeline and SaaS metrics reporting for Merchant Central — ACV rollforward, renewals, and pipeline coverage.
  • The forecasting model rebuild as it migrates from Excel into our Tableau-based data set.
With our Sr. Financial Analyst:
  • Monthly and quarterly opex BvA across S&M, G&A, and P&E, including headcount and vendor-level detail.
  • Balance sheet and free cash flow modeling — contributing to the EBITDA-to-cash walk.
  • Abacum rollout and driving adoption across stakeholders.
  • Vendor renewal reviews and consolidation analysis.
Across both:
  • Monthly close support, revenue accruals, and partnership with Accounting.
  • Board and CFO-level reporting packages.
  • Ad hoc analysis for the VP of Finance, CFO, and cross-functional partners.

What You Bring

  • 1–4 years of relevant experience in FP&A, investment banking, consulting, corporate finance, or adjacent analytical roles. Exceptional new grads with strong internship experience will be considered.
  • Excel fluency. SUMIFS, XLOOKUP, driver-based modeling, and a reflex to reconcile your own numbers.
  • Genuine curiosity about how a business actually works — not just the line items on a P&L. We hire for the instinct to go deep on problems nobody asked you to solve.
  • Clear written and verbal communication. You'll regularly explain your analysis to people more senior than you, including the CFO and executive team.
  • High trust, low ego. This is a role where asking good questions matters as much as answering them.
  • Comfort with PE rigor. You'll be in a fast, commercial environment where expectations are high and feedback is direct.

Bonus Points

  • Experience in payments, fintech, or SaaS.
  • SQL exposure or hands-on work with a data warehouse.
  • Familiarity with an FP&A platform (Abacum, Pigment, Anaplan, Mosaic, or similar).
  • Early, deliberate use of AI tools in your workflow — we operate with an 80/20 FP&A/AI orientation and expect it to grow.

As well as being a part of something exciting everyday, you will also receive the following benefits:

  • Base salary range of $85,000–$115,000 depending on experience, plus an annual bonus target.
  • Remote-Enabled & Flexible Hybrid-Based Working Model in our New York City Office.
  • Flex PTO
  • Health, Dental and Vision Insurance
  • 13 Paid Holidays
  • Company volunteer days

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

An "Armed forces service medal veteran" means a veteran who, while serving on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service, participated in a United States military operation for which an Armed Forces service medal was awarded pursuant to Executive Order 12985.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
