Change and Release Management
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Change and Release Management Analyst to control and manage requests for change (RFC) in our environment, ensuring that all changes are properly authorized. This role will also oversee the planning and direction of software, hardware, documentation, and operating procedures deployments, effectively controlling the introduction of releases into the production environment.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure alignment of change management processes with the telecom sector's critical infrastructure requirements, minimizing disruptions to network operations during updates or releases.
- Oversee the planning and coordination of network equipment upgrades, including switches, routers, and software, to ensure smooth integration with minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with NOC, IT, and engineering teams to ensure network services and customer-facing systems remain uninterrupted during change deployments.
- Track and manage network-related RFCs, prioritizing those that directly impact network performance, scalability, and availability.
- Manage and control Requests for Change (RFC) to ensure all changes are authorized and comply with organizational policies.
- Assess the impact and risk associated with proposed changes, facilitating decision-making processes.
- Develop and maintain change management processes and procedures, ensuring they align with best practices and organizational goals.
- Plan, coordinate, and direct the deployment of software, hardware, documentation, and operating procedures into the production environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and coordination during the change and release process.
- Monitor and report on change and release activities, providing insights on performance and areas for improvement.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess the success of changes and identify lessons learned.
- Maintain accurate documentation of change and release processes, including records of changes and deployment schedules.
Must have Skills:
- 8+years of experience in Change Management, Release Management, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks and best practices in change and release management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on risk assessment and mitigation.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple changes simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating collaboration across teams.
Good to have:
- ITIL certification (e.g., ITIL Foundation or Intermediate).
- Experience with change and release management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
- Familiarity with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps).
Education:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or technical degree.
