Automated Test Engineer (TS/SCI CI Poly Clearance Required)
North Point Technology is seeking a Mid-Level Automated Test Engineer to support a mission-critical enterprise identity and access management (ICAM) program. This role focuses on the development, integration, and execution of automated tests to ensure the reliability, performance, and quality of enterprise applications. The engineer will work within an Agile environment, building and evolving test frameworks while supporting long-term automation strategy and CI/CD integration.
This position requires an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain and maintain a Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph.
Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks, libraries, and tools to support program-wide testing needs.

Implement automated test cases across UI, API, and back-end layers to validate system stability and reliability.

Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab) and support DevSecOps practices.

Collaborate with developers and operations teams to ensure test alignment with system requirements and architecture.

Investigate, troubleshoot, and document issues identified during automated and manual testing.

Monitor framework health, proactively identifying improvements and optimizations.

Contribute to program-wide testing strategies, including requirements traceability to test cases and results.

Execute manual test procedures when required and provide detailed documentation of findings.

Support Agile ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and SAFe-aligned practices.

Use Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) for documentation, issue tracking, and source control.
Required Skills/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 2–5 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience.

Hands-on experience developing automated tests with Selenium and/or Playwright.

Experience with Cucumber or similar BDD frameworks.

Strong knowledge of testing phases (planning, functional, regression, performance).

Experience testing web applications across multiple layers (UI, service, back-end).

Proficiency in Java with exposure to JavaScript or Python.

Experience using Git/GitLab for source control, pull requests, and code reviews.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins and Ansible.

Ability to work independently, debug complex issues, and deliver high-quality results.

Strong documentation and communication skills.

Experience working in Agile environments.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).

U.S. citizenship required. Active SCI or TS (SCI-eligible) clearance required; must obtain/maintain CI polygraph.
Preferred Skills/Experience

Experience with test case traceability tools such as QMetry or Zephyr.

Experience validating services with tools such as SOAPUI, Postman, or Mockito.

Familiarity with ICAM standards and technologies, including LDAP/Active Directory, PKI, OAuth, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, SCIM, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

Experience in identity management/governance (SSO, identity federation, enterprise directory architecture).

Exposure to web development frameworks such as React or Redux.

Security+ Certification (or ability to obtain).
