Internal Workspace Architect
About Us:
We're on a mission to make it possible for every person, team, and company to be able to tailor their software to solve any problem and take on any challenge. Computers may be our most powerful tools, but most of us can't build or modify the software we use on them every day. At Notion, we want to change this with focus, design, and craft.
We've been working on this together since 2016, and have customers like OpenAI, Toyota, Figma, Ramp, and thousands more on this journey with us. Today, we're growing fast and excited for new teammates to join us who are the best at what they do. We're passionate about building a company as diverse and creative as the millions of people Notion reaches worldwide.
Notion is an in-person company, and currently requires its employees to come to the office for two Anchor Days (Mondays & Thursdays) and requests that employees spend the majority of their week in the office (including a third day).
About The Role:
In this role, you’ll be in charge of Notion’s Notion! This means you’ll design, build, and manage our internal Notion Workspace to enhance organizational efficiency and ways of working. Notion provides building blocks that enable all of our customers to personalize how they use Notion. As our Internal Workspace Architect, you’ll use these building blocks—especially our AI features—to make our Workspace the best one out there. You’ll document best practices and learnings, and then work cross-functionally to define the “Notion way” of Workspace design for our customers.
What You’ll Achieve:
- Advance you expertise: Become the most advanced Notion expert at Notion — which won’t be easy since all Notion employees are power users!
- Architect and Scale: Build advanced, reusable Workspace solutions that serve dozens of teams—and evolve them as our product and company grow
- Document and Share: Create clear playbooks, templates, and demos to capture learnings and accelerate adoption
- Partner Cross-Functionally: Translate complex team needs into frictionless workflows. Align stakeholders, drive consensus, and deliver until everyone’s unblocked
- Train and Support: Be the go-to expert—run trainings for new hires, host office hours, and field questions in real time
Skills You’ll Need to Bring:
- ~3+ years of experience working as a Knowledge Manager, Program Manager, Solutions Architect, Business Process Architect, Solutions Engineer, or something similar at a tech company
- True Notion mastery: You’ve built very large workspaces, know all of Notion’s features, and can teach others in your sleep
- Systems thinker: You spot patterns, break down complexity, and design scalable solutions
- Strong communicator: You listen deeply, write crisp docs, and influence across teams
- Technical skills: You can troubleshoot bugs, pair with engineers, and work effectively with both technical and non-technical teammates to tackle hard problems
Nice to Haves:
- You’re a Notion Ambassador, Champion, Certified Consultant, or former Campus Leader
- You’ve taught other people how to use Notion
- You’ve built Notion solutions for companies with 500+ employees
- You have strong knowledge of basic scripting, APIs, SQL, and similar technologies for building integrations and doing lightweight data science tasks
- Knowledge of and experience using one or more of the following programming languages - Python, TypeScript, React
Our customers come from all walks of life and so do we. We hire great people from a wide variety of backgrounds, not just because it's the right thing to do, but because it makes our company stronger. If you share our values and our enthusiasm for small businesses, you will find a home at Notion.
