Project Coordinator - Automation

This Project Coordinator will report to our Development Team Lead and will focus on projects using technology to improve service for our clients and increase efficiency for our staff.

The focus of the Project Coordinator role can change. It will depend on both the capability of the person in the role and the season in which we are (because our short term business needs are driven by the season). 

This full-time, non-exempt position is remote from your home office.  We will provide you with a home office set-up including a computer and a phone.  Nova has been offering remote work for over 10 years. We offer a great work experience for our remote employees!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in projects identified by management to automate work processes, improve customer service and company image
  • Report regularly to management verbally and in writing
  • Communicate potential issues and solutions so that management and other team members can understand
  • Communicate with the technical team to ensure proposed solutions are consistent with our standards
  • Collaborate with different segments of the business and Automation team including vocalizing concerns
  • Assign and track ticket requests and developer assignments
  • Attend or facilitate stand-up calls with developers and/or business to track progress, blockers, and scope changes
  • Troubleshoot specific issues related to our payroll integration product. This is a internally built data product, so this requires a desire to deeply study specific data flow and custom tools.
  • Discuss workflow with business and developers for clarity and ways to optimize
  • Review workflow templates with our business leads and developers to improve efficiency, reporting, and resiliency
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal software development processes


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Prior project management experience
  • Ability to document processes in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Curiosity-independent research and analytical skills
  • Desire to continually upgrade your knowledge, skills, and relationships with others at the company
  • High level of critical thinking
  • Ability to communicate directly in a helpful, friendly, and firm manner when appropriate
  • Coachable
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Teams and conference calls as primary method of interacting with team leader
  • Desire to continually improve systems in maintainability and resilience
  • Desire to learn industry-specific tools used to manipulate data
  • Success in this role will require you to continuously learn about and track key technical processes that provide critical support to our business
  • Prior experience in a business or technical setting that involves detailed multi-person workflows, or facilitating project planning meetings, or experience in a business analyst or project managing related role is a plus
  • Familiarity with some aspect of development ( virtual machines, MySql, GitHub, programming) is a plus
  • Prior experience or familiarity with payroll, retirement plans, finance is a plus

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base Salary $65,000 - $80,000 (dependent on experience)
  • Salaried, non-exempt position

Work Location/Hours:

  • Work from home
  • Must work from USA and be authorized to work for any US employer
  • Attend regular video meetings via Microsoft Teams or equivalent
  • We will supply all necessary computer equipment
  • Work hours: standard business hours with core hours in Central Time Zone
