About the role

We’re looking for an Associate Scientific Director to lead one of our growing publications workstreams in oncology and/or dermatology. Both are cutting-edge areas of exciting science and highly rewarding to be part of. Existing experience across publications deliverables and strategy is key, as is a passion for the latest publication innovations. Overseeing junior writers is an important part of the role – we have a passion for developing people and we hope you do too! Therapy area experience is an advantage but motivation for the role is more important. This is a great chance for an experienced publications professional looking to take the next step into account leadership, within a driven yet supportive culture.

Here's what you'll do:

As Associate Scientific Director, you will be responsible for accurate and top-quality scientific content across your workstream. You will develop your own content across diverse publications deliverables, and oversee, support and motivate a global team of medical writers to do the same. You will develop strong client and author relationships that enable you to make great, strategy-driven suggestions. You will lead client and author calls and scientific meetings. You will have a growth mindset and work with the agency leadership on account growth and innovating our client offerings.

The Associate Scientific Director will report to the Senior Scientific Director or Vice President, Scientific Services and will line manage members of the junior medical writing team.

About you:

To succeed you will have:

  • A number of years’ experience working in a medical writing role, including publications, within a medical communications agency environment.
  • Experience writing across a broad range of deliverables and formats for a variety of medical audiences.
  • Experience reviewing and overseeing other writers, ideally including line management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with colleagues, clients and external experts.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, work to deadlines and juggle multiple projects.
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in quality control.

Don't meet every job requirement? That's okay! Our company is dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace. If you're excited about this role, but your experience doesn't perfectly fit every qualification, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right person for this role or others.
