We're changing the landscape of snacking on nuts, dried fruit, chocolate and more! We planted our roots in Newark, New Jersey during the Great Depression, selling premium nuts on Mulberry Street's open-air market. We've come quite a long way since then, taking our multi-generational family business online in 1999. Even after 96 years, we continue to pride ourselves in expertly sourcing the highest quality foods and treating our customers like family.

The role:

Nuts.com is seeking a Brand and Creative Director to lead the creative and strategic vision that drives growth, loyalty, and storytelling across all touchpoints. This leader will oversee Nuts.com’s customer-centric brand strategy, creative direction, and the performance-driven creative assets that fuel our advertising engine.

This role sits at the intersection of brand building and performance marketing, balancing creative excellence with measurable business outcomes. Reporting to the Chief Strategy & Sales Officer, you’ll shape how Nuts.com shows up in the world, from upper-funnel brand campaigns to the iterative, data-driven ad creative that powers our digital channels.

You’ll guide a multidisciplinary team of creatives, strategists, and producers in creating work that’s bold, smart, and high-performing, spanning DTC, B2B, Retail, and Amazon.

What you'll do:

Brand Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute a unified brand strategy that aligns with company goals, customer insights, and market trends.
  • Lead brand positioning, architecture, and messaging frameworks to ensure consistency across all customer touchpoints.
  • Partner cross-functionally to embed brand thinking across the business: marketing, product innovation / merchandising, e-commerce, retail, B2B, and customer experience.
  • Translate brand values into compelling campaigns and narratives that deepen customer connection and drive business growth around a clear and distinct value proposition.

Creative Direction & Execution

  • Oversee all creative development, from campaign concepts to day-to-day content, ensuring a cohesive and inspiring brand identity.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Manager (Art & Copy) and design team to produce assets for digital, social, video, and packaging.
  • Provide art direction and storytelling guidance that elevates creative quality while maintaining alignment with brand voice and tone.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external agencies (when needed) to deliver on-time, on-brief creative work that meets performance and brand goals.

Performance Creative

  • Build and lead a nimble “creative studio” function that operates on speed, experimentation, and data-driven iteration.
  • Establish creative testing frameworks that incorporate rapid concepting, A/B testing, and insights application.
  • Oversee end-to-end creative production for paid channels (Meta, TikTok, Google, YouTube, Display), ensuring output volume and quality.

  • Partner with the Creative Performance Strategist and Growth Marketing teams to review creative results, identify winning themes, and scale what performs.
  • Manage external freelance talent and production partners to expand creative capacity as needed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with Growth, Product, CX, Operations, and E-commerce teams to ensure brand and creative strategies support broader business priorities.
  • Partner with the Chief Strategy & Sales Officer to translate strategic goals into creative initiatives that drive measurable impact.
  • Ensure creative alignment across DTC, Retail, B2B, and Amazon channels for a consistent customer experience.

Market Insights & Innovation

  • Drive and leverage consumer insights, testing data, and competitive analysis to inform creative and brand strategies.
  • Identify cultural and category trends to ensure the brand remains fresh, relevant, and differentiated.
  • Drive new product storytelling and go-to-market creative strategies in partnership with product and merchandising teams.

Performance Tracking & Optimization

  • Define KPIs and dashboards for creative and brand performance.
  • Use data-driven insights to continually refine messaging, creative direction, and channel mix.
  • Foster a test-and-learn culture that rewards curiosity, agility, and smart risk-taking.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a cross-functional creative team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and growth.
  • Provide clear direction, feedback, and development opportunities to elevate creative craft and strategic thinking.
  • Champion a culture of innovation, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

What you’ll bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in brand and creative leadership, ideally within DTC, CPG, or digitally native consumer brands.
  • Analytical and data oriented.
  • Deep understanding of both brand storytelling and performance creative optimization.
  • Proven track record of developing and scaling creative that drives measurable results across Meta, TikTok, Google, and emerging platforms.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary creative teams and collaborating cross-functionally.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, planning and leadership skills.
  • Strong understanding of creative production, design systems, and digital marketing principles.
  • A balance of creative intuition and analytical rigor - able to connect art with performance data.
