Senior Project Engineer

We’re currently looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join our team in Long Beach, CA! This role offers the opportunity to be a key member of our project management team, supporting the delivery of large-scale capital improvement, renovation, and new construction projects. Projects may include facility upgrades, infrastructure improvements, accessibility enhancements, building systems modernization, and other complex construction initiatives within active, occupied environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and document pre-bid, pre-construction, and progress meetings; distribute meeting minutes and follow up on action items.
  • Review plans, specifications, and construction documents for project understanding and coordination.
  • Maintain project controls, including RFIs, submittals, as-builts, meeting minutes, and project files, to facilitate timely communication among project stakeholders.
  • Track project budgets, contracts, and change orders, identifying potential issues for project management review.
  • Review and monitor project schedules and coordinate schedule updates with project team members.
  • Coordinate regular meetings with owners, consultants, contractors, and other project participants.
  • Perform site observations and document construction progress in accordance with project requirements.
  • Participate in project safety meetings and support overall project compliance efforts.
  • Support procurement activities, consultant coordination, and contract administration.
  • Assist with client communication and maintain positive working relationships with project stakeholders.
  • Support project delivery efforts throughout planning, design, procurement, construction, and closeout phases.
  • Prepare and distribute construction observation reports, status reports, meeting minutes, pay application reviews, schedule updates, and cost tracking reports.
  • Coordinate project closeout activities, including punch lists, warranties, as-built documentation, and turnover packages.
  • Provide guidance and support to less experienced project staff as needed.Participate in professional and community organizations.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of construction management or related experience.
  • Solid understanding of A/E/C industry terminology, project delivery methods, and construction documents.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience coordinating RFIs, submittals, change orders, schedules, and project documentation.
  • Cost estimating and scheduling experience highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Bluebeam.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Compensation: $105,000 - $120,000
