About the role:

This is a career-defining opportunity! OfferUp is looking for a seasoned Sr. Principal Product Manager for our B2B Services and Extended Classifieds Verticals domains. As product leader for these focus areas, you will define, develop, optimize, and grow products and services that enable businesses and partner integrations to interact with OfferUp users across our marketplace, jobs, and services verticals - with potentially even more to come. This high-visibility role reports to the SVP of Product supports two executive business sponsors, and interacts with leaders at the senior-most level across the company.

As the ideal candidate for this role, you build great products that serve business customers at scale, ideally in a marketplace or online retail environment. You develop and scale services that enable businesses and third-party partners to integrate, operate, grow, and monetize offerings that meet the needs of millions of online users each day. Data-driven decision-making is in your DNA, and experiments are your stock-in-trade. Adaptability and drive are words you live by. Delivering results is like breathing for you.

You have successfully met the demands of both a larger company and a scrappy, hands-on start-up. You are an effective people leader who seamlessly moves between providing high-level direction to product managers who report to you and diving in yourself to write product plans, PRDs, and stories when necessary. Your two-sided marketplace, SaaS, e-commerce, and/or endemic advertising experience would be highly leveraged in this role.

What we love about this role:

  • Ability to define and drive product development for multiple high-growth, high-visibility products.
  • Supported by a top-flight sales organization and high-powered engineering team.
  • Massive potential for going both deep and wide into current and future verticals by leveraging our large and highly engaged audience.

Here's more of what you will get to do:

  • Be a ‘player-coach’ for a small but mighty team of product managers assigned to specific products. Help them with their projects while also owning and executing specific projects and deliverables yourself.
  • Own and execute high-impact product development roadmaps to scale growth and monetization of:
    • a.) OfferUp Business and OfferUp Pro products that bring high-volume local sellers onto our marketplace and
    • b.) third-party integrations that bring Services and Real Estate Rentals offerings to our users.
  • Create and scale highly effective monetization, pricing, and subscription offerings for each vertical.
  • Adapt and modify product and business requirements based on quantitative and qualitative results supported by routine and regular statistical experimentation.
  • Build out business-facing onboarding, account management, and self-service SaaS tools for business partners.
  • Work hand-in-hand with a dedicated cross-functional team of executive business sponsors and product, marketing, business operations, finance, CS, and trust partners to optimize user retention and revenue across consumer-facing products and touchpoints.
  • Act as a champion for OfferUp’s mission, vision, and values and partner across the company to drive a high-performance work environment.

You'll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have 7-10 years of relevant work experience in product management at a high-performance online consumer technology company.
  • Have 3+ years of people management experience
  • Are a driven self-starter leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple competing priorities to create positive outcomes.
  • Are a great ‘player-coach’ who thrives on guiding and managing other product managers while simultaneously getting your hands dirty and driving the details of your own projects.
  • Develop innovative approaches to multifaceted problems and advocate for them to key stakeholders, challenging conventional wisdom and existing models.
  • Execute quickly with limited guidance on complex, cross-functional projects with multiple working groups—scrappy but not sloppy!
  • Are detail-oriented, have sound judgment, and can break down complex problems and find simple, elegant solutions.
  • Thrive and execute effectively in highly collaborative environments by building high-performance team dynamics.
  • Leverage data analysis and apply quantitative reasoning to multidimensional problems
  • Quickly absorb technical concepts and communicate them to a non-technical audience.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical and technical audiences across all levels of the organization

Helpful, but not required

  • Experience in a marketplace/two-sided business model environment
  • Experience working on products with diverse customer segments

Form CC-305

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
