About the Role
We’re on the hunt for a top notch Senior Account Executive - Events to work in Doha.
The Senior Account Executive - Events is responsible for implementing comprehensive plans for the events and outreach activities. The incumbent will be responsible for all the planning, operational, implementation and post-event activities.
What You’ll Do
- Attending all departmental meetings to drive Communications objectives and deliverables
- Seek internal approvals on events communications deliverables
- Overall management and day-to-day execution of events
- Effectively managing and using Communications platforms
- Plan, organize and lead cross-functional execution of all events activities
- Supervise graphics, marketing and branding material used at event activities, in liaison with the creative team.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders.
- Track performance of events and make recommendations for new processes and events to support the mission
- Research and recommend local and international conferences and exhibitions
- Deal with all relevant correspondence and logistics regarding events, including all meeting room requirements, catering requirements, hotel reservations, draft scope of works, etc.
- Manage the scheduling of both present and future events and client portfolios on a daily basis enabling accurate and timely information to be available for internal and external providers.
- Maintain a calendar of events and implement a system that enables long term planning and effective events management.
- Obtain accurate event specifications.
- Ensure excellent customer relations / service in all events.
- Support with updating the operating procedures; establish strategic events schedules’ and tasks assignments as and when required.
- Provide directions and coaching to event onsite staff / volunteers involved in the planning and execution of the events.
- Negotiate agreements with 3rd party service providers and subcontractors to ensure lowest cost and highest quality of service.
- Provide post event analysis, budget recaps and participants’ feedback.
- Develop the event management plans, monitor and approve related expenditures
- Actively follow and promote all policies and procedures.
- Perform Any other duties and tasks as deemed necessary
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree and up to 5 to 8 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience in higher education events is highly preferable.
- Knowledge of protocol matters is preferrable.
- Be able to exercise sound judgement and exhibit courteous customer service and friendly behavior at all times.
- Have sharp time-management skills and excellent organizational tactics.
- Be quality and people-oriented and have the capacity to effectively manage intra- unit flow
- Be sensitive to deadlines and adaptable to unforeseen changes or circumstances.
- Good conceptual and strategic thinking with ability to articulate and share vision and mission by inspiring others.
- Very quality-focused, able to use quality management methods, tools and techniques to create and support an environment that meets the needs of the organization.
- Committed to continuous improvement, committed to actively pursuing ongoing efforts to improve performance and increase one’s ability to fulfill requirements.
- Ability to analyze data and represent facts, findings and ideas appropriately.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to logically and persuasively outline and present thoughts, ideas, and specifications through oral communications and in writing.
- Good understanding of short and long-term plan and vision and the ability to identify opportunities and actions
- Fluent in English; Arabic is a must.
- Be able to effectively operate and utilize computer software including spreadsheets, word processors, and presentation programs
