About the Role 

Our Social and Contextual Analytics Directors play a vital and varied role within our Marketing Sciences team at Ogilvy. Leveraging your expertise in data science, (predominantly through social and contextual data), data storytelling and strategic nous you will inspire our strategic and creative teams to take bold strategic leaps, through the delivery high-quality analytics and differentiating insights for our clients.

What You’ll Do 

  • Drive innovation in our product stack, proactively identifying and implementing new tools, techniques, and data sources to enhance our analytical capabilities. Champion a culture of experimentation and learning, embracing calculated risks to push the boundaries of what's possible, whilst maintaining timelines and delivery needs.
  • Translate visionary thinking into tangible plans and presentations, effectively communicating complex ideas to key stakeholders and securing buy-in for new initiatives.
  • Assume key accountability (alongside the Social & Contextual Insights Lead) for the quality and impact of deliverables from the Social & Contextual Intelligence team. Provide hands-on training and mentorship to team members, focusing on both practical areas such as listening methodologies, survey data analysis etc and softer skills data-storytelling and integration of diverse data sources. Helping our analysts become experts at creating compelling and statistically robust narratives that drive strategic action.
  • Working with our Social and contextual analysts lead to develop and grow our capabilities to deliver world class analysis driving deep insight inspiring our clients to make bold strategic leaps fearlessly
  • Working with client teams strategists and creatives to develop, sell in and implement analytics strategies that align and surpass client expectations.
  • Demonstrating exceptional people skills by building strong relationships with clients and fostering a positive work environment for the team.
  • Engaging with clients to understand their needs and providing data-driven recommendations through compelling data storytelling.
  • Rolling your sleeves up and getting deep into the data, this is a growing team and we all get stuck into developing analysis and refining our story telling.
  • Collaborating with other teams within the Marketing Sciences and broader agency to ensure seamless service delivery and client experience.
  • Managing client relationships and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and growth
  • Mentoring and coaching team members for professional growth.
  • Staying abreast of industry trends and best practices in social and contextual analytics, identifying where these maybe applied to our business and clients

What You'll Need 

  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and implement new analytical approaches, even in the face of uncertainty.
  • Proven ability to translate visionary ideas into actionable plans and compelling presentations.
  • Experience in mentoring and training teams, with a focus on developing data storytelling skills, data prowess and statistical rigor.
  • Substantial experience and a proven track record in marketing analytics, particularly in social, contextual, data analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal and data storytelling skills
  • Understanding of the application of data fusion techniques, advanced analytics, machine learning, and predictive modelling.
  • Expert proficiency with Boolean logic, along with experience in relevant analytics tools and platforms such as Brandwatch/Sprinklr, Audience, GWI etc a must. Proficiency in programming languages like Python or R a plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of distilling complex insights into actionable recommendations for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker passionate about innovation and driving transformative change.
  • Proven experience in client engagement and relationship management, delivering valuable insights aligned with client needs.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a natural curiosity for identifying creative opportunities across agency capabilities.
