The Role: Your Impact as a Revenue Assistant Accountant

Are you a meticulously-minded finance professional ready to dive into the heart of a leading creative agency? We're seeking a Revenue Assistant Accountant to join our dynamic Commercial Finance team. This is an incredible opportunity to hone your skills, contribute to our financial integrity, and partner with diverse stakeholders across Ogilvy.

You'll be instrumental in ensuring the accurate and timely recording of all revenue transactions, playing a vital role in our financial health and strategic decision-making. If you're a strong communicator with an eagle eye for detail and a solid grasp of accounting principles, we want to hear from you!


What You'll Do:

  • Master Revenue Cycles: Accurately enter and allocate revenue data, expertly managing deferred and accrued revenue balances to ensure precise recognition over time.
  • Reconcile & Analyse: Perform meticulous reconciliations of deferred and accrued revenue, diving deep into accounts to identify trends, anomalies, and drive insightful variance analysis against budget and forecast.
  • Ensure Financial Integrity: Support critical month-end close activities, prepare essential revenue reports for management, and compile in-depth month-end commentary by project. You'll be a key player in audit support and maintaining compliance with accounting standards.
  • Drive Efficiency & Collaboration: Actively follow up on Net Working Capital management actions, review Purchase Orders, and approve expenses. You'll collaborate closely with Client teams and Shared Services to streamline processes and resolve queries, ensuring smooth financial operations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance our revenue accounting processes, contributing to greater efficiency and accuracy across the department.

Who We're Looking For:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent practical experience).
  • A strong understanding of core accounting principles.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (SUMIFS, PIVOT, CONDITIONAL FORMULAS are your friends!).
  • Experience with ERP accounting software, with Workday being a significant advantage.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – you're comfortable partnering with various internal stakeholders.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as a valued team member.
  • A natural problem-solver with a proactive approach.
  • Experience with revenue recognition is a plus!
  • A strong understanding or experience with New Working Capital management is essential.
