Partnership Manager - Sourcing and Supply Chain

San Francisco, CA

Position: Partnership Manager - Sourcing and Supply Chain

Location: San Francisco, CA

Type: Full-time

Desired start date: ASAP

The Opportunity:

Ohalo™ is looking for a highly organized, financially-oriented, negotiating-savvy operator to own all vendor and service provider contracting, supply chain sourcing and purchasing, and oversight of company expense systems and processes.

The right individual is high-energy, scrappy, and resourceful, with a strong interest in taking on an important role at a fast-growing company. You should thrive on negotiating great deals, be relentless about getting value, enjoy working with and managing third party service providers, while partnering with internal teams to help them execute their goals.

With multiple facilities, biology laboratory operations, greenhouse operations, and hardware engineering activities, this role will offer a diverse set of responsibilities, with a measured set of outcomes against costs, performance, and speed.

Ohalo’s Boosted Breeding™ biotechnology platform provides unprecedented improvements in crop yields that may otherwise take millennia to achieve with traditional breeding methods. Through partnerships across the food and agriculture value chain, we are actively developing and delivering new seed products to farmers around the world, unlocking a more sustainable future for agriculture and the planet. As we grow rapidly, we need someone who can make every dollar go further and help us build with speed, discipline, and creativity.

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate Like a Pro: Lead or support contract and pricing negotiations across vendors (equipment distributors, lab and greenhouse suppliers, construction service providers, etc.). Get us great terms — not just standard terms. You’re relentless in pursuing the best outcome.
  • Deal-Making for Infrastructure: Support facility expansions and build-outs by working with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to source materials and services at the best cost and on accelerated timelines.
  • Operational Procurement: Handle end-to-end purchasing activities — from sourcing and quotes to POs and delivery follow-through — for everything from lab supplies to greenhouse systems to capital improvement service providers.
  • Expense Management & Cost Optimization: Monitor spend, flag savings opportunities, and partner with finance to keep budgets on track and lean.
  • Vendor Hustle: Identify and vet new suppliers and partners quickly. Build strong relationships that give us flexibility and leverage.
  • Cross-Functional Execution: Collaborate with internal teams to forecast needs, solve bottlenecks, and make sure procurement is always enabling progress, not slowing it down.
  • Lightweight Tracking & Reporting: Maintain simple but effective tracking systems to keep contracts, purchases, and commitments organized.

Candidate Profile

  • 2+ years of experience — could be in finance, operations, business development, commercial real estate, procurement, or vendor operations. We’re open to different backgrounds – but we’re critically looking for candidates that are financially-savvy, highly organized, and with strong negotiating skills.
  • A negotiator at heart who enjoys driving better outcomes with vendors and service providers.
  • Highly adept at organizing and presenting, including proficient use of key Google Workspace applications.
  • Not afraid of getting into the weeds — hands-on, action-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Comfortable managing a wide variety of vendor types — from equipment and construction to services and software.
  • Excel at building strong working relationships, internally and externally.
  • Able to balance cost consciousness with speed and operational needs.
  • Bonus if you’ve worked with biotech or hardware companies, or have experience with facilities expansion projects or capital equipment purchasing.

The anticipated pay range for this role is $110,000 - $150,000 per year for our California locations.  The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
