Role: Technical Project Manager

Location: Mumbai, India 

 

About the role: 

OLIVER is a rapidly expanding creative services agency with a unique approach – we provide our clients with bespoke and dedicated teams that operate from inside their worlds. We prioritize innovation, collaboration, and seamless integration to transform our clients' marketing capabilities and become their closest partner.

The Technical Project Manager will serve as a key technical expert and strategic advisor, uniquely positioned within the client’s organisation to bridge complex technical solutions and marketing strategies. They will be responsible for accelerating the seamless integration of all existing platforms and new technologies into a single ecosystem.

They will also be tasked with evaluating and integrating third‑party technologies and collaborating with both OLIVER and client teams to implement solutions that drive overall marketing success.

 

What you will be doing: 

Solution Architecture and Design:

  • Work with key OLIVER and client stakeholders to design and deliver integrated technical solutions.
  • Develop a deep understating of existing OLIVER, and client technologies and platforms
  • Understand the technical constraints and opportunities these technologies and platforms provide
  • Architect and oversee the technical integration of various third-party tools and platforms to also enhance marketing efficiencies and capabilities
  • Run and / or participate in requirement gathering workshops to understand, clarify and prioritise client business objectives against technical blockers
  • In essence, the role will be tasked to lead the seamless integration of all current and future technologies and systems into a single ecosystem

Technical Leadership:

  • Act as the primary technical liaison between OLIVER and client teams, ensuring alignment on strategic technical goals and integration of new technologies.
  • Lead the design and deployment of integrated and secure technology solutions tailored to client's marketing objectives.
  • Translate complex technical constraints, issues and opportunities into language which nontechnical stakeholders can understand, ultimately ensuring differing types of team members from a variety of backgrounds are engaged and buy into our mission
  • Liaise effectively with client and OLIVER third-party vendors

Hands On Technical Project Management & Stakeholder Management:

  • Develop project plans, timelines and budgets, ensuring timely and within-scope delivery of new technical projects and initiatives.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies proactively.
  • Define and maintain a deployment roadmap for all client technical initiatives and projects
  • Communicate project status, updates, and technical RAIDs to stakeholders, ensuring key client sponsors are kept updated on progress

Immersion & Business Understanding:

  • Build an in-depth knowledge of client's people, process and platforms, understanding what can be changed and what parameters must be worked within
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders at all levels, understanding their differing requirements, business needs and blockers.
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations, facilitating technical discussions and workshops as necessary
  • Translate technical concepts into business value propositions
  • Work with client and OLIVER legal, compliance, IT and sourcing to ensure new technologies and AI can be approved for use quicker

Global Working and Time Management:

  • This will be a global role, not only working with Asia teams, so occasional after hours and early morning video conference calls will be necessary. However, it is important to note that flexibility and strong time management skills are expected to avoid burn out and excessively long working days.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to balance their own time, flexibly working or taking time in lieu to ensure a healthy work life balance is maintained.

 

What you need to be great in this role: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field is required
  • Has a strong understanding of a wide range of marketing and automation tools and technologies.
  • Minimum of 8 years combined experience as a technical project manager, developer, solutions architect or similar relevant role
  • This should include, or have as additional, 3-4 years as a Solutions Architect, preferably for a large multi-national organisation
  • Hands on experience within software development, testing or production
  • Excellent technical understanding with a working knowledge of HTML, CSS and other languages etc.
  • Experience of presenting complex technical information to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to thrive within a fast paced, changing environment
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to be self-directed
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience of delivering technical solutions for regional or international brands / partners
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Eagerness to explore new technologies and push creative boundaries.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Dedication to achieving project goals and objectives.
  • Passion for and inquisitive about AI and new technologies 
  • Understanding and knowledge of AI tools is beneficial, but ability to learn and digest benefits and features of AI tools is critical

Additional requirements

  • Availability to work onsite at client and OLIVER offices as required.
  • Ability to be flexible with their hours, whilst managing their work life balance
