Role: Senior Designer
Location: Toronto, Canada
About the role:
You'll be the visual architect behind marketing assets that translate the client's premium journalism into compelling subscriber and advertiser touchpoints. Working at the intersection of editorial design and marketing effectiveness, you'll create visual communications that engage business professionals and investors while respecting journalistic standards. We're looking for someone who can balance creative excellence with production efficiency, developing designs that drive measurable results while maintaining brand integrity. Success means creating marketing assets that strengthen audience engagement while supporting business growth.
What you will be doing:
- Design tier 2 and tier 3 marketing assets across email, social, display, print, and digital channels
- Create visual communications that align with the client's editorial voice and premium brand positioning
- Develop design systems and templates that enable efficient production while maintaining quality standards
- Collaborate with copywriters and creative directors to create integrated marketing campaigns
- Ensure visual consistency across marketing touchpoints while adapting designs for different channels
- Develop design templates for automation, always thinking about scale, speed, and efficiency
- Leverage GenAI throughout your workflow to move faster and test and learn
- Create compelling visuals that translate complex financial information into accessible marketing communications
- Support brand guidelines development and maintain design standards across all marketing materials
- Work with production teams to ensure technical specifications and delivery requirements are met
- Contribute to creative concepting and campaign development with visual thinking and design expertise
What you need to be great in this role:
- A portfolio demonstrating design excellence in marketing communications, preferably for premium or financial services brands
- Design skills that create compelling visuals while maintaining editorial credibility and professional standards
- Proven ability to work efficiently in production environments while maintaining quality and attention to detail
- Experience designing for multiple channels including digital, social, email, and print marketing
- Collaboration skills that work effectively with copywriters, creative directors, and account teams
- A talent for translating complex information into clear, engaging visual communications
- The ability to balance creative innovation with brand guidelines and production constraints
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and other design tools relevant to marketing production
- Understanding of and proficiency in GenAI platforms
- 5-8 years of design experience with proven success in marketing communications or publishing
- At the time of this posting, the base salary for this position may range from CAD $89,250.00 to CAD $99,750.00 . Individual compensation varies based on job related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. The range listed is just one component of OLIVER’s total compensation package.
