Role: Social Media Manager

Location: Hybrid - Toronto, Canada

About the role:

As Social Media Manager, you'll own the day-to-day social presence of multiple consumer brands — ensuring content is platform-right, audience-relevant, and creatively sharp. You'll develop strategies and playbooks, manage communities, analyse performance, and bring fresh thinking to how brands show up in culture.

You'll work closely with creative, strategy, insights, and production teams — and alongside media agency partners — to deliver integrated social programmes that grow reach, build engagement, and inform broader campaign planning.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop and maintain social playbooks, defining strategy across content, channel, and creative approach for each brand
  • Plan, create, and publish timely, platform-optimised content — including short-form video, recipe and food-culture posts, UGC curation, and copywriting — tailored to each brand's voice and audience
  • Manage and grow communities across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, Snapchat, and emerging platforms, fostering authentic engagement and surfacing consumer insights
  • Monitor platforms for customer service opportunities, respond to conversations on behalf of clients, and escalate where needed
  • Conduct social listening across key platforms to identify content opportunities, cultural moments, and emerging trends
  • Track and analyse performance against KPIs, delivering monthly reporting with clear recommendations
  • Collaborate with food influencers, creators, and community members to amplify reach and drive authentic engagement
  • Work with media agency partners to traffic content and assets for paid social campaigns
  • Develop and maintain content calendars that balance always-on activity with campaign bursts and reactive moments
  • Partner with cross-functional teams — including creative, strategy, insights, and production — to identify new social opportunities and support growth objectives

What you need to be great in this role:

  • Proven track record managing social media accounts and communities end-to-end, ideally in an agency environment
  • Experience working with multicultural audiences, natural or textured haircare brands, food brands, or similar consumer categories is a strong advantage
  • Strong content creation and copywriting skills across formats — able to adapt brand voice across platforms and write with impact whether in 280 characters or 60 seconds
  • Platform fluency across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, and Snapchat — and genuine curiosity about what's emerging
  • Experience with social analytics and listening tools such as Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Brandwatch, or equivalent
  • Ability to manage multiple brands, projects, and timelines simultaneously without compromising quality
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency with Gen AI tools relevant to social media — including content ideation, copy drafting, and image generation — to enhance output quality and efficiency
  • Experience building personal AI workflows that improve efficiency without sacrificing brand judgment
  • Agentic approach to content planning and problem-solving: able to break complex briefs into clear, actionable steps
  • Ability to critically evaluate AI outputs and apply human creativity and brand sensibility
