Job Overview

The NPI Leader will play a crucial role in leading the successful introduction of new products from concept to full-scale production. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing cross-functional teams, driving process improvements, and ensuring timely and efficient product launches.

This position reports to the Production Manager, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas site.

 

Responsibilities

As the NPI Leader, you will:

  • Project Management: Lead cross-functional NPI teams to ensure successful execution of new product development projects. Develop project plans, set timelines, allocate resources, and monitor progress to ensure on-time delivery of project milestones.
  • Strategic Planning: Work closely with senior management and key stakeholders to develop NPI strategies aligned with business goals and market needs. Provide input on product development priorities, resource allocation, and investment decisions.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with R&D, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality assurance, and marketing teams to drive collaboration and alignment throughout the NPI process. Facilitate communication and resolution of cross-functional issues.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and obstacles that may impact NPI projects and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively. Anticipate and address technical, logistical, and market-related challenges to ensure successful product launches.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and optimize NPI processes to improve efficiency, reduce time to market, and enhance product quality. Implement best practices and lessons learned from previous NPI projects to drive continuous improvement.
  • Quality Assurance: Work closely with quality assurance teams to establish and maintain rigorous testing protocols and quality standards for new products. Ensure that products meet regulatory requirements and customer expectations for performance, reliability, and safety.
  • Supplier and Vendor Management: Coordinate with external suppliers, vendors, and partners to ensure timely delivery of components, materials, and services required for NPI projects. Evaluate supplier performance and address any issues or concerns that may arise.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Ensure that all necessary documentation, including specifications, test reports, and regulatory certifications, are completed and maintained throughout the NPI process. Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations in target markets.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Keep stakeholders informed of NPI project status, progress, and key decisions through regular updates and reporting. Communicate effectively with executive leadership, customers, and other relevant parties.
  • Post-Launch Evaluation: Conduct post-launch reviews to evaluate the success of NPI projects against predefined objectives. Gather feedback from customers, sales teams, and other stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and inform future NPI initiatives.

 

 

ELIGIBILTY REQUIREMENTS

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in NPI leadership roles within a manufacturing or technology company.
  • Strong project management skills, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements, optimize workflows, and implement best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Experience in quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and risk management related to new product development.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and industry standards.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • English Level: Intermediate / Advanced.
