Job Overview

This position is responsible for Shanghai plant manufacturing quality. Ensures the plant quality management system is established, implemented, and maintained in accordance with TL9000, safety and government agency requirements.  This also includes process controls to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD).

Responsible for factory quality improvement activities with cross function teams that include Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Six Sigma, LEAN and 8D problem solving.  Additional responsibilities include supplier quality, internal audit programs and factory related customer issue resolution.

Supports new product introduction (NPI) projects with respect to Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA), first article inspections (FAI) and perform NPI quality reviews on each build.

This position reports to China Operations Leader and dotted line to the Global Quality Leader.

 

Responsibilities 

Quality Management Leadership - Develop and implement the overall quality management strategy for the manufacturing plant, aligned with relevant quality standards, regulations, certifications, company objectives and industry best practices.  Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of quality professionals to create a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement.  Establish and communicate quality objectives, metrics, and targets.

Quality Assurance and Control - Oversee the execution of quality control processes, ensuring compliance with internal quality standards and industry regulations.  Collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to implement quality control procedures, including inspection plans, testing protocols, and sampling techniques.   Monitor production processes and product outcomes to identify potential issues and take corrective actions promptly.

Root Cause Analysis and Problem Solving - Lead investigations into quality-related problems, defects, or non-conformities and implement root cause analysis methodologies to prevent reoccurrence.  Work cross-functionally to determine appropriate corrective and preventive actions to address identified issues.

Process Improvement - Continuously evaluate and improve processes to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and increase efficiency.  Champion Lean Six Sigma and quality improvement methodologies to optimize operations and drive a culture of continuous improvement.

Supplier Quality Management - Collaborate with the procurement team to assess and qualify suppliers, ensuring that they meet quality requirements and standards. 

Documentation and Reporting - Maintain accurate records of quality-related activities, including inspections, audits, and corrective actions.  Prepare and present regular quality reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators and improvement initiatives.

 

ELIGIBILTY REQUIREMENTS:

Basic Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years in a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic printed circuit board manufacturing.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.

 

Desired Characteristics:

  • In-depth knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies, and best practices, including Lean Six Sigma.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with high attention for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and quality compliance requirements specific to power supply markets.
  • Capable of understanding customer concerns, investigating root causes, and implementing corrective actions to ensure customer satisfaction.
