The role reports to R&D Director and is located in Shanghai, China and will serve as Product Manager having full accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives associated with China for China product portfolio. In this role you will lead, integrate and develop cross-functional relationships and processes that meet business needs across your product line, be involved in long-term planning and strategy, manage complex issues within development of new products and sustaining existing products, and contribute to the overall business results.
Responsibilities
- Gather and evaluate voice of customer, competitive landscape, product portfolio performance, and other market information to make decisions on product positioning, pricing, promotion, sales channel, and product life cycle.
- Visit and collaborate with customers, sales team, and other global product managers to support growth accounts and initiatives.
- Establish the product strategy to align with the business goals and is responsible for the roadmap creation; this involves reviewing product recommendation, business cases, requests, and go-to-market execution plans.
- Demonstrate responsibility for providing the commercial context for the product strategy including reconciling customer, sales, and internal feedback
- Business case creation, review, approval and escalation.
- Present high-risk projects to Management and Project Management for discussion and approval prior to quotation.
- Communicate critical business opportunities, achievements or losses and their impact on an ongoing basis to leadership.
- Track and provide report out on specific business metrics established by management.
- Establish and control margin trends through pricing, cost reviews, new product launches and volume planning.
- This goes to the core of profitable growth by controlling product mix.
- Coordinates the creation of external marketing and internal training content to communicate the value proposition of new products as well as competitive strategies to win in the larger marketplace.
- Works with R&D, defining, reviewing, approving and escalating critical RFQs (Request for quotation).
- Work with Project Management team to ensure clear hand off new projects to their execution team.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering field from an accredited university or college with minimum of 10 years of product management or technical experience.
- 5 years of experience with AC/DC rectifier, DC/DC converter or Board Mounted Power
- Willingness and ability to travel 20% of the time.
- Previous experience in Power Electronics and/or 5G Wireless, Data Center, and Industrial A Experience in Semi-Test, AI Applications industries are preferred.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams to help build effective processes.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong business analysis, problem solving, and strategy development skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Familiarization with NPI (New Product Introductions) process.
- Results oriented, ability to deliver on commitments and follow through.
Desired Characteristics:
- MS Engineering and/or MBA degrees preferred.
