OmniOn Power is currently hiring a Product Manager – Front End Power for Data Centers, Telecom and Industrial sectors. This is an individual contributor role having responsibility for high power (Kilo Watts range) single and three phase rectifiers and DC/DC Converter portfolio including orders, design wins, revenue, and margin for various Data Centers (AI/ML, Super Compute, High Performance Compute etc.), Telecom and Industrial sectors. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a product roadmap including standard and custom product developments.
In this role you will lead, integrate and develop cross-functional relationships and processes that meet business needs across the product line, be involved in long-term planning and strategy, manage complex issues within development of new products and sustain existing products, and contribute to the overall business results.
This role will be based in our Plano, TX headquarters and will report to the Senior Director R&D, Front End Power.
As the Product Manager, you will:
- Own and manage products & product portfolio performance, gather and evaluate the voice of customer, competitive landscape, and other market information to make decisions on product positioning, pricing, promotion, sales channel, and product life cycle
- Visit and collaborate with customers, sales team, segment leaders, and other product managers to support growth accounts and initiatives
- Establish the product strategy to align with the business goals and is responsible for the roadmap creation; this involves reviewing the product recommendation, business cases, requests, and go-to-market execution plans
- Demonstrate responsibility for providing the commercial context for the product strategy including reconciling customer, sales, and internal feedback
- Business case creation, review, approval and escalation
- Present high-risk projects to Management and Project Management for discussion and approval prior to quotation
- Communicate critical business opportunities, achievements or losses and their impact on an ongoing basis to leadership
- Track and provide report out performance against specific business metrics
- Establish and control margin trends through pricing, cost reviews, new product launches and volume planning. This goes to the core of profitable growth by controlling product mix
- Coordinates the creation of external marketing and internal training content to communicate the value proposition of new products as well as competitive strategies to win in the larger marketplace
- Works with R&D, defining, reviewing, approving and escalating critical RFQs
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
- 10+ years of product management or technical experience in Data Centers, Telecom and Industrial sectors
- Five years of product management experience with Single Phase and Three Phase Front End Power Product Family such as AC to DC rectifiers, both in open frames configuration as well as vertically integrated solutions for specific customer applications
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong business analysis, problem solving, and strategy development skills
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams to help build effective processes.
- Familiarization with the NPI process
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%
Desired Characteristics
- Previous experience of product management in Power Electronics, Power Conversion and/or AI/Super Compute/High Performance Compute/Edge Compute Data Centers, Telecom and Industrial applications. Must be Conversant in power electronics designs and be able review and discuss power design choices with the design team and test engineers.
- Previous experience and strong understanding of customer KPI’s and be able to translate multiple different customer KPI’s into a single consolidated product roadmap.
- Good understanding of safety and compliance rules affecting power electronics and their applications.
- Working knowledge of standards affecting the Power Electronics industry including IEC/EN, UL, ANSI, GR specs, SEMI, IPC, ISO and similar standards.
- Fundamental understanding of the use and application of communications protocols including PMBus, CANbus, Modbus, PoE and others.
- Ability to interact at all levels of the organization
- Strong negotiation skills
- Results oriented; ability to deliver on commitments and follow through
