JOB SUMMARY:
The Technical Service Director leads and develops Regional Services Leaders and their teams while driving a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. It oversees service growth strategies, financial performance, and customer satisfaction through strong technical expertise in telecom/cable power distribution and effective partner engagement. The position ensures operational excellence by championing safety, integrity, and consistent execution across regions. This role will report to the VP of Services and will travel up to 30% within the US.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the Technical Services Director, you will:
- Lead, mentor, and develop Regional Services Leaders and their teams, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Use knowledge to telecom/cable central office power distribution to interface with customers and internal teams to provide technical solutions for installations.
- Engage service partners to clarify performance on quotation, engineering, and execution including costs and risk mitigation
- Oversee the implementation of services growth strategies
- Own operational KPIs including utilization, productivity, SLA compliance, response/resolution times, backlog health, and service profitability.
- Drive a learning organization through best practices and execution lessons learned, sharing across regions, etc.
- Delivering financial performance including revenue, margins, utilization, and efficiency.
- Ensuring customer satisfaction through execution excellence.
- Champion safety, integrity, and reliability.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing multi-region or multi-site technical teams.
- 8+ years of experience in telecom facilities, data centers, or mission-critical infrastructure.
- Working knowledge Telecom/Cable Central Office power distribution including incoming AC Power, Power Plants, DC infrastructure, inverters, battery and generators.
- Experience with construction projects including AC/DC Power, HVAC and Generators
- Proficiency in dealing and negotiating with subcontractors in construction projects execution
- Proficiency in understanding construction drawings, single line diagrams and structural drawings
- Ability to understand and interpret Customer Standards
- Knowledge of NEC & Telcordia Standards
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- Proficiency in maintenance planning, reliability engineering concepts, and incident management.
- Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in using computer-based management and administrative tools, including Microsoft Office, Salesforce (SFDC), and Workfront.
