Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join our Procurement team. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, equipment, and services required by the organization. This role involves negotiating contracts, ensuring timely delivery of goods, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to support the company's operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement sourcing strategies battery energy storage system components
  • Lead RFQ and sourcing activities.
  • Evaluate vendor quotations and negotiate best overall value (price, quality, delivery, and service.)
  • Assess potential suppliers in collaboration with Engineering and Supplier Quality.
  • Build strong supplier relationships and manage supplier performance.
  • Manage supplier development and tooling timelines to ensure that program milestones are met
  • Ability to identify and deliver cost reductions to achieve program cost targets.
  • Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
  • Reviews supplier contracts to understand supplier obligations and compliance.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or a related field.
  • 5-7 years Purchasing and Supply Chain, or related experience. Experience purchasing electrical and mechanical components for battery energy storage system and/or automotive battery packs   
  • Proficient technical understanding of product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Solid knowledge of product cost drivers and cost analysis tools.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, negotiation, and program management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel, as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, Power Point) and knowledge of ERP systems

Work Schedule

  • Full-time 40 hours and generally scheduled Monday through Friday 8am-5pm EST
  • Work schedule to be established with supervisor to ensure Company’s business needs are met
  • Flexible work schedule and environment, see company policy if applicable
