About the Role
We are looking for a strategic and technically skilled Director of Cloud Services to lead the evolution of our cloud infrastructure and services. This role is responsible for overseeing both private and public cloud platforms, identifying opportunities for technical and operational improvement, and partnering across departments to drive innovation. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in cloud technologies—particularly in managed service provider (MSP) environments—and a proven ability to lead, plan, and execute high-impact initiatives.
This leader will collaborate closely with the CTO and other stakeholders to define and refine our service offerings, manage budgets and team performance, and explore new technologies that align with our strategic goals.
Position Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the delivery of cloud services across private (VMware, VCD/NSX, Veeam) and public (AWS, Azure) environments.
- Provide working knowledge and guidance around core technologies including virtualization, backup solutions, and networking (DIA, Metro Ethernet, etc.).
- Partner with Product Management and the CTO to define go-to-market strategies, drive R&D initiatives, and support product lifecycle planning.
- Lead and mentor the cloud services team, setting clear goals (ROCKs), managing budgets, and fostering professional development.
- Identify areas for service and performance improvements through technology, automation, and operational best practices.
- Participate in the design and enhancement of service offerings to ensure alignment with business needs and market demand.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, and Finance to support solution development and client delivery.
- Ensure documentation and operational processes are clear, repeatable, and optimized for efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Technical & Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience in cloud services, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management capacity
- Hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure including VMware, NSX, VCD, Veeam, AWS, Azure
- Working knowledge of managed service environments, including understanding of customer SLAs and support models
- Familiarity with networking technologies and internet transport options (e.g., DIA, Metro Ethernet)
- Prior experience managing budgets and leading high-performing technical teams
- Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect, or VMware VCP are a plus
- Experience with process optimization methodologies (Lean, ITIL, Six Sigma) is a bonus
