About the Role:
As Corporate Counsel, Commercial/Compliance you will provide legal services and strategic guidance across a broad spectrum of corporate matters, with particular emphasis on regulatory compliance, data privacy, and complex commercial contracts. This role reports to the Chief Legal Officer.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead U.S. (and ideally Canadian) compliance initiatives in a highly regulated industry, ensuring alignment with federal, state, and local laws
- Lead U.S. and international data privacy and regulatory matters (e.g., GDPR, CPRA, PIPEDA)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex legal issues and support business goals relating to compliance
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
- Draft and review complex customer agreements (taking into account different types of customers, product offerings and compliance requirements)
- Handle other legal matters as may arise
Experience We’re Looking For:
- JD degree, active California Bar, and practicing for 5+ years required with a combination of big law firm and in-house experience
- Demonstrate strong background and knowledge with commercial contracts, data privacy laws and federal and state regulations under the FCC, FTC, HIPAA and COPPA
- Experience with a regulated industry strongly preferred
- Strong oral and written communication, drafting and negotiation skills, and the ability to provide clear and concise, business-oriented legal advice
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with the ability to operate under imperfect fact patterns
- Demonstrate organizational skills and a self-starter with strong work ethic, and an ability to prioritize and manage projects to completion with minimal direction #LI-CC1

California Pay Range
$175,000 - $240,000 USD
