We are seeking a motivated and passionate Pet Nutrition Intern to join our team. The intern will play a crucial role in supporting our Nutrition Strategy.  This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in pet nutrition, formulation, feeding guidelines and supporting research. 

In this role you will... 

  • Work with our Impact Team and Head of Veterinary Nutrition to support Open Farm’s nutrition strategy
  • Conduct desk research of peer-reviewed journals to support our nutrition work
  • Support product information requests 
  • Work on nutrition data-focused projects
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, impact, nutrition, and our pet parent experience team
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to answer specific business questions and provide actionable recommendations
  • All other duties, as assigned 

We’re paw-sitively excited about you because you have/are: 

  • Pursuing a degree in animal/pet nutrition with a focus on companion animals
  • Strong understanding of companion animal nutrition
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability synthesize peer-reviewed findings into actionable nutritional insights and communicate findings effectively
  • Ability to digest and summarize peer-reviewed technical  
  • Proficiency in software such as Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges

The hiring rate for this role is $21 per hour

In addition to this, each month our Leadership team dedicates three consecutive days onsite to continue to foster alignment and connection across the team. During this time we expect everyone to join us in person to do the same. Please note: our hybrid approach may evolve over time as we adapt to the needs of our team and business.
