About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Lead Machine Learning Engineer who thrives on the intersection of advanced ML, robust software engineering, and strategic leadership. In this role, you’ll help build and lead a team of ML engineers, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and lead the technical vision for our ML initiatives to ensure our products and solutions are reliable, efficient and impactful for our clients. We expect our engineering leads to be deeply technical and hands on keyboard.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, has a strong track record of deploying ML pipelines in production, and thrives in dynamic, customer-focused environments. You’ll help build systems that work across a wide range of infrastructure - from bespoke enterprise stacks to modern open solutions - so flexibility and solid engineering instincts are key.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable, robust, and efficient ML systems, from data ingestion to model serving and monitoring.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive monitoring frameworks to track models and ML systems' performance, identify potential issues and bottlenecks, and ensure optimal performance and health in production environments.
  • Collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Infrastructure teams, and clients to translate complex business problems into robust and impactful ML solutions.
  • Provide technical mentorship and direction to other engineers on the team, fostering their professional growth and promoting a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Maintain clear and thorough documentation to support knowledge sharing and future development.
  • Design scalable model serving solutions for open-source and foundation models.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience  in deploying, managing, and monitoring machine learning models in production environments at scale
  • Advanced Python proficiency, including expertise in ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.)
  • Proven ownership of high-impact machine learning systems or products and in-depth understanding of the ML lifecycle.
  • Strong technical leadership experience, especially in guiding engineering teams and leading technical projects.
  • Deep experience with feature engineering and/or feature store implementations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and influence technical decisions.

Bonus Points

  • Experience leading remote teams
  • Previous experience contributing to open source ML, MLOps, or data projects and communities
