SUMMARY:

As a Manager of Direct Marketing Analytics, you will help grow our business by analyzing performance of campaigns, measuring success, and guiding business decisions. You will play a key role in developing new strategy, launching test & learn initiatives, and innovating our direct marketing approach. This highly visible role will help drive spend and optimization of the various campaigns within Oportun’s largest marketing program. This role partners with the Credit Risk, Data Science, and Product teams to streamline processes, improve segmentation, and drive improved campaign performance. This is an exciting opportunity in a fast-paced organization where your contributions will have a meaningful impact on increasing access to lending products for consumers with little or no credit history.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own end-to-end data and reporting workflow, including defining success, building necessary data pipelines, measuring performance, socializing metrics and insights, and creating actionable dashboards and reports
  • Partner with Credit Risk, Data Science, Finance, and Product teams to drive alignment around reporting and metrics measurement
  • Deeply understand how our data is structured and engage with Engineering and Product teams to understand changes that may impact data flow & accuracy
  • Routinely forecast key performance metrics such as new applications, loans, and disbursements by channel
  • Communicate insights to executive level leadership and cross-business stakeholders
  • Present analytical output to inform strategic and tactical decision making and guide business decisions
  • Set test & learn agenda around new business innovation, and growth initiatives
  • Drive ideation and strategy to improve cost to acquire, and to monetize our total addressable market

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a data or analytically driven role, preferably in Fintech or a consumer-products oriented company
  • Experience using database languages (any SQL variant) required; Python / SAS experience preferred
  • Experience in communicating results to both analytically oriented and broader audiences
  • Proficiency with MS Office products (Excel, Word, Power point etc.)
  • Experience with data visualization and BI tools (Birst, Tableau, Looker, etc.)
  • Comfortable in a high-growth, fast-paced, and agile environment
  • Proactive approach and builder’s mindset toward finding new growth opportunities for the business
  • Detail oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Highly inclined to want to automate everything
