Your Role: 

The Digital Designer is a key member of the Creative Team, working closely with the Art Director and cross-functional teams to develop beautiful, conversion-driven email campaigns and digital assets that support growth, retention, and brand initiatives. Your primary focus will be on leading email design—establishing scalable template systems, strategizing with performance and retention teams, and continuously optimizing based on A/B testing and analytics.

In addition to email, this role will support the design of paid ads and other digital deliverables. You’ll work across channels to ensure visual cohesion and strategic alignment, helping drive performance while bringing the brand to life.

The ideal candidate is strategic, thoughtful, detail-oriented, and collaborative. You have a passion for digital storytelling and understand how design can influence customer experience and business impact. You thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments and are a self-starter who can balance creativity with performance goals.

This position reports to the Art Director and collaborates closely with the Copy, Creative Performance and Retention teams to drive impact through digital communications.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Email & Digital Design:
    • Lead the design and development of high-performing email campaigns from concept to execution—balancing brand storytelling with performance goals.
    • Build and refine modular email templates in collaboration with the Art Director with scalability and flexibility in mind.
    • Partner with the Copy, Creative Performance and Retention teams to ideate, design, and iterate A/B tests that optimize open rates, click-through rates, and conversions.
    • Design additional digital assets including paid ads, social graphics, digital banners, and landing page components to ensure a cohesive visual experience across platforms.
    • Apply strong visual design principles including hierarchy, typography, spacing, and color theory to create compelling, conversion-focused content across devices.
    • Maintain and contribute to digital design systems, ensuring consistency and creative excellence across all touchpoints.
    • Stay current on digital marketing trends, visual design best practices, and innovative approaches in performance-driven creative.
  • Collaboration & Execution:
    • Maintain a self-driven and organized approach to design projects, ensuring deadlines are met while keeping project goals at the center of all work.
    • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities, managing multiple projects while adapting to changing demands.
    • Proactively communicate progress, challenges, and solutions to the Creative Project Manager and Art Director to ensure seamless workflow and alignment with business objectives.
    • Be receptive to constructive feedback, refining designs with flexibility and a problem-solving mindset to meet both creative and strategic goals.
    • Collaborate closely with the Art Director and other designers to uphold and evolve the brand’s digital visual identity.
    • Work cross-functionally with performance, retention, and marketing teams to align design with business objectives.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience:
    • 3–5+ years of digital design experience, with a strong focus on email and performance-driven creative
    • Expert in Figma and highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
    • Deep understanding of email design best practices, including responsive layout and mobile-first design
    • Strong track record of designing for consumer brands with an emphasis on eCommerce and digital conversion
    • Experience collaborating on A/B testing and incorporating performance data into design iterations
    • Ability to align with O Positiv’s visual brand identity and aesthetic
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Interpersonal:
    • Passion for digital design and storytelling
    • Understanding and interest of designing for a consumer brand, with the goal to drive sales and market to consumers 
    • Curious, collaborative, self-reflective and a strong willingness to learn
    • Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills
    • Strong time management and prioritization skills
    • Team-player, collaborative, hard-working, organized, and goal-oriented
    • Excitement for startups and building from the ground up
    • Eagerness to learn from senior team members and follow creative direction

Additional Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Startup, e-commerce, or DTC brand experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with performance marketing and retention strategy
  • Experience designing for multi-channel campaigns beyond email

Hours and Compensation

The anticipated base compensation range for this role will be $80,000 - $100,000. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and local market rates.

  • Position will be based out of Santa Monica, Los Angeles - in person (Mon-Thurs in office/Friday remote)
