ABOUT THE PUBLIC RELATIONS INTERNSHIP

Orchestra is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our Fall 2025 Public Relations Internship Program. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain meaningful experience in strategic communications, public affairs, media advocacy, and brand storytelling across a wide range of industries.

Interns will be embedded on a specific team, with opportunities to collaborate across departments and accounts. You’ll contribute to both long-term and day-to-day projects, learning the fundamentals of communications strategy, media relations, writing, pitching, and client service in a fast-paced agency environment.

Our client portfolio spans sectors such as technology, real estate, social impact, consumer goods, and more—offering a dynamic and engaging internship experience. Interns are invited to observe meetings, attend events, and contribute to real work that builds foundational skills for a future career in communications.

  • Duration: Late August through December 2025

  • Location: Hybrid internship based in our New York, N.Y. or Washington, D.C. offices (minimum 3 days/week in-office)

Note: Internships in Arts & Culture, Consumer, Gaming, and Lifestyle & Hospitality are only available in our New York, N.Y. office.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

As an intern, you will…

  • Learn the fundamentals of communications strategy, media relations, and brand storytelling
  • Support daily client work, including research, media list building, task tracking, and meeting prep
  • Draft and edit press releases, pitches, memos, social content, and reports
  • Monitor media coverage, industry trends, and competitor activity
  • Organize media clips, internal files, and client deliverables
  • Join internal meetings, attend client calls, and contribute to team operations
  • Collaborate on additional cross-functional projects with staff guidance

Qualifications:

  • Rising college junior or senior, postgraduate student, or non-student with relevant interest or experience
  • Strong writing and communication skills; able to produce clear, concise, public-facing materials
  • Demonstrated interest in public relations, strategic communications, media, or current events
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting
  • Self-motivated and team-oriented with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Professional communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
  • Digital and social media savvy; eager to learn new platforms and tools

INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS AVAILABLE FOR FALL 2025

BerlinRosen: BerlinRosen specializes in public affairs and strategic communications with a focus on high-impact storytelling across issue advocacy, campaigns, corporate communications, and media strategy. Interns will work closely with a team and gain exposure to areas such as media relations, digital strategy, crisis communications, and public affairs.

  • Hours: 40 hours/week with a daily 30 min unpaid lunch break, Monday–Friday, (flexibility may be required based on client needs)

  • Location: New York, N.Y. or Washington, D.C. (hybrid, 3 days in-office minimum)

  • Salary: $18/hour

Derris: Derris focuses on holistic brand storytelling and marketing through public relations and strategic communications. Interns collaborate with teams across the firm, including content and creative, influencer marketing, and in-person client experiences.

  • Hours: Up to 21 hours/week, 3 days/week (Tuesday–Thursday), roughly 9 a.m.–5 p.m. ET

  • Location: New York, N.Y. (in-office Tuesday through Thursday)

  • Salary: $16.50/hour

Internships are available on the following teams:

Arts & Culture (BerlinRosen): Partners with visionary institutions shaping the future of cities through arts, architecture, design, and education. 

Cities, Real Estate & Public Affairs (BerlinRosen): Leads campaigns across commercial real estate, affordable housing, labor, advocacy, and healthcare. Clients range from civic institutions to developers and public health coalitions.

Consumer & Lifestyle (Derris): Builds strategic narratives for brands in lifestyle, fashion, beauty, and wellness.

Gaming (BerlinRosen): Works with top B2B and B2C brands in gaming, digital entertainment, and emerging technologies. 

Impact (BerlinRosen): Supports national philanthropies, advocacy groups, and nonprofits. Focuses on media relations, digital organizing, and mobilizing targeted audiences to act.

Legal Affairs and Crisis Communications (BerlinRosen): Supports clients navigating litigation, reputational threats, and major legal victories in areas such as civil rights, higher ed, media, and philanthropy.

Lifestyle & Hospitality (BerlinRosen): Manages PR for top brands in travel, tourism, hospitality, and food and beverage.

Tech and Innovation (BerlinRosen): Represents startups, funders, and global tech leaders in climate, consumer tech, fintech, gaming, and urban innovation.

Sport Business (BerlinRosen): Partners with teams, leagues, brands, and investors at the intersection of sports, media, real estate, and culture.
