Position Summary

Associates provide vital administrative, project, and client support to ensure the smooth execution of day-to-day operations across client engagements. Associates are responsible for logistical coordination, document preparation, and relationship support, and play a key role in ensuring client satisfaction and internal team alignment. This role offers an exciting opportunity for professionals early in their careers to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit consulting while building expertise across our service lines.  Associates are encouraged to build skills, deepen expertise, and contribute to the firm’s culture.


Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to internal client teams, including scheduling, drafting materials, and compiling and distributing action items
  • Draft client-facing materials including donor outreach emails, campaign collateral, workplans, dashboards, and reports
  • Conduct initial prospect research
  • Coordinate logistics and material preparation for both internal and external meetings
  • Support milestone tracking and light project management tasks
  • Communicate regularly with team members on client communications and updates
  • Proactively seek opportunities to deepen expertise in fundraising, tools, and internal processes
  • Contribute to the organization beyond client work by supporting teams, joining committees, or helping with practice area initiatives

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of professional experience, ideally in a nonprofit, consulting, or philanthropic organization
  • Previous exposure to fundraising and development preferred
  • Ability to form relationships with diverse groups of people
  • Excellent research and computing skills
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a collaborative spirit
  • Demonstrated interest in the nonprofit sector and social impact
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge and Salesforce is preferred but not required

Additional Information

Location

Orr Group offices are located in Washington, DC, and New York City, and candidates must be based in either metropolitan area. Our hybrid policy requires staff to spend at least 60% of their working time in an Orr Group office or at client sites.

Salary Range

The salary range for this role is $60,000 to $65,000 with an annual bonus potential of up to $5,000.
