Senior Product Designer - Otter - Los Angeles

Who we are

Otter provides infrastructure and software that enables food operators to open delivery-only locations with minimal capital expenditure and time. We’re taking restaurants to a whole new place. Where seamless delivery is prioritized, costs are minimized, and profits are maximized for anyone involved in the food industry–from entrepreneurs, and independent operators, to established restaurant chains.

Our software assists our customers in all stages of their food business, from onboarding via a turn-key solution to our ghost kitchens to managing their delivery services and business all in one platform. We are building technology that gives superpowers to digital restaurants to empower them so they can focus on what they do best: serving their customers.

 

What you’ll be doing

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to build well-crafted, user-centric products that solve real world problems for restauranteurs.

  • You will be responsible for experiences across our Point of Sale (POS) system, one of Otter’s fastest growing products
  • Regularly participate in design critiques and product reviews to obtain feedback, iterate on designs and craft a stronger user experience
  • Enhance the restaurant operating platform by contributing to and maintaining the design system
  • Close collaboration with product managers, engineers and operations to conceptualize and build new features for our growing customer base

 

What we’re looking for

  • You have 5+ years of experience in product or UX design
  • Ability to be a strategic partner by understanding the competitive environment and building a vision for how the product will fit in the market
  • Strong full-stack design skills; from interaction design to visual design to system thinking, and everything in between.
  • Proven track record in building products from the ground up and working effectively with cross-functional partners
  • Solid communication skills and ability to effectively prioritize projects
  • Foster a collaborative team environment and make sound judgements based on user data, insights and business objectives
  • A deep curiosity and passion for the food industry, translating into innovative designs that change the way we think about how meals make it on a plate
