We are looking for a highly motivated Junior Financial Analyst to support the Finance team. More than a number cruncher, we are looking for someone who can look at the payments industry, take time to understand the financial mechanics, and translate them into models to inform strategic decisions.
An ideal candidate will have a keen interest in both analysis and explanation. Someone who can develop and test a hypothesis and explain their findings. This role requires curiosity, conviction and collaboration and will provide you with the opportunity to significantly develop your financial modelling, data analysis and presentation abilities.
Your role and responsibilities
Strategic Finance & Modelling:
- Financial modelling: Build and maintain financial models to support strategic decision-making, including forecasting, and scenario analysis.
- Pricing and feasibility: Work with our commercial team to develop our value proposition to merchants, balancing our dual needs of driving adoption and maintaining profitability.
- Data Procurement & Integrity: Collaborate with our data and core finance teams to extract accurate datasets for modelling.
Corporate Strategy & Market Intelligence
- Executive and board reporting: Assist with producing effective, informative narrative-driven presentations to communicate commentary on prior performance and recommendations for future strategy.
- Stakeholder support: Anticipate the needs of stakeholders, set clear expectations and timelines, and provide insights adapted appropriately to different audiences.
- Market research and industry learning: Monitor the payments landscape (locally and globally) to identify emerging trends, regulatory changes, and new opportunities.
You are an ideal candidate if you have
- Bachelor’s degree required. Degree discipline is flexible for candidates who demonstrate strong quantitative reasoning, analytical thinking, and applied problem-solving skills.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in management consulting; corporate finance; business, financial or investment analysis; or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with PowerBI and SQL is a big plus
- A proactive problem solver who enjoys interpreting complex datasets and solving puzzles
- Ability to work with stakeholders across a variety of departments and expertise, and especially an ability to explain complex topics to a nontechnical audience
- Curiosity, inquisitiveness and a willingness to learn
