THE OPPORTUNITY:
Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, the National Director, Corporate & Institutional Partnerships is responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive corporate partnerships program to support the organization’s goal to raise $80M annually by 2030. The National Director, Corporate & Institutional Partnerships will build and scale a corporate partnerships program leveraging all PanCAN’s programs and assets, as well as the partner company’s business objectives, public relations, media, and internal assets. This position has direct responsibility for growing all corporate revenue including corporate philanthropic partnerships, institutional giving, event sponsorship, workplace giving, and cause marketing. The role will work closely across the Community Building and Growth department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Work with the Chief Growth Officer to execute a cohesive corporate partnership strategy that leverages the field fundraising abilities, nationwide network of donors, and volunteers.
- Must have an entrepreneurial approach as this role is a balance of creating and holding a vision, while also simultaneously creating the infrastructure and the “doing” of the activities as the strategies get executed.
- Develop and launch a five-year growth plan for the corporate, industry and institutional partnerships program, including operating plans and metrics. Responsibility for creating an annual plan and budgets for the Corporate Partnerships team.
- Develop and implement strategies that promote long-term sustainable revenue growth and increase PanCAN visibility and awareness.
- Front-line responsibility for corporate pipeline development, sales and account management. Research, identify, and prospect industries and companies that share common values and align with PanCAN’s goals and objectives.
- Build, execute and assist the team with solicitation plans, meetings, and proposals.
- Work with the Leadership and Executive Teams to identify funding needs, prospects, and strategies to successfully meet the organization’s funding needs and objectives.
- Work with legal and finance to ensure execution of partnership strategies meet all non-profit guidelines.
- Collaborate with Scientific & Medical Affairs team to leverage patient-facing programs for Health Industry Partner activations
- Interface and leverage Business Development team to grow and build Health Industry Partner pipeline
- Collaborate with the Community Engagement leadership to evaluate PurpleStride sponsorship and explore additional affiliate level sponsorship opportunities.
- Develop best practices for fulfillment and stewardship of corporate partners, including monitoring and reporting impact.
- Ensure the team has resources and direction for securing and servicing partners and models best practices.
- Inspire the development staff through effective motivation and team building, fostering an atmosphere of high performance, focus, and energy for organizational goals.
Management Responsibilities:
In accordance with applicable company policies/procedures and Federal/State laws, may perform the following supervisory responsibilities: Interviewing, hiring orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching, mentoring, and appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from a 4-year accredited university in business, non-profit, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and practical experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
- Advanced degree is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
The following are the minimum qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position:
- A minimum of 10 years progressive experience in corporate partnerships, sales, and management, including knowledge of non-profit fundraising, preferred.
- Deep, broad knowledge of corporate development and the ability to successfully execute all aspects of corporate fundraising while ensuring our mission is executed with care and compassion.
- Proven track record of building and implementing strategic corporate initiatives, resulting in significant revenue growth and improved operations with a demonstrated understanding of corporate fundraising activities.
- Experience working effectively and respectfully as part of a committed, integrated team.
- Considerable and demonstrated success in leading fundraising efforts, including experience and understanding of the systems necessary to ensure a successful corporate program.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and well versed in consultative sales in non-profit and/or B2B environments.
- Strong discovery and problem-solving skills for uncovering opportunities and creating value propositions and proposals.
- Solid business sense coupled with budgeting expertise and a propensity towards strategic thinking and planning.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain positive relations with staff, Board members, major donors, prospects, corporations, foundations and other non-profit partners.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both in writing and orally, listen as well as give advice, and respect the ability of others. Must communicate with authenticity and inspiration.
- Thorough understanding of prospecting, reporting, and acknowledgment systems, new technology applications as well as database management.
- Must have an in-depth understanding of the competitive landscape, the organization’s place in it, and where innovative thinking would be most impactful and transformative.
- A transformational leader with a thorough understanding of the change management aspects of driving innovation. who can encourage, inspire and motivate employees to innovate and create change that will help grow and shape the future success of PanCAN.
SALARY RANGE: ($140-160k) PanCAN is committed to providing fair and transparent employee pay. Our compensation policy and practices integrate years of relative experience, skills, job duties, functions, responsibilities, education, certifications, expertise, PanCAN seniority, position/title, department, market conditions, and merit, and may also include geographic location. Our base salaries range from Entry level to Experienced and max at Expert level. The base pay range included herein is specific and germane to the job/position/opening as described within this announcement.
