Summary:

The Regional Manager is responsible for achieving sales growth in the region, developing, executing new sales opportunities, and working with sales reps to meet company performance and growth goals.  A highly seasoned expert responsible for a focus on the daily and monthly operations within their team. The focus is strategic with an awareness of current and future market trends impacting sales.   This individual is motivated by the drive to make changes that matter now and in the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the VP of Sales to develop and execute winning regional sales plans to meet/exceed sales and gross margin targets.
  • Build and expand strong relationships with key accounts, industry influencers, end-users, and key industry groups in the region.
  • Identify new business development and marketing opportunities in the region and communicate them clearly with the VP of Sales.
  • Contributes regional sales intelligence and recommendations to build strategic plans, reviews, and executes the strategic plan.
  • Lead, coach and develop direct reports that delivers people development and business KPIs.
  • Maintains and expands customer base by counseling district sales representatives; building and maintaining rapport with key customers; identifying new customer opportunities.
  • Deliver concise sales reports monthly or as requested by the VP of Sales.
  • Successfully launch new products in region with channel partners and end users.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.
  • Support and collaborate with management to develop effective marketing programs within region.
  • All other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant science related discipline of study.
  • Proven track record of strong people leadership; Experienced in establishing effective work relationships with key decision makers.
  • 10+ years’ experience within the Green Industry.
  • Focus on leadership by example, a bias for results and execution, and a proven drive to succeed
  • Effective and productive conflict management skills
  • Sound decision-making skills
  • Proven ability to learn and convey product features and benefits to technical buyers as an expert in the industry
  • Strong sales ability, sales presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Highly skilled written and verbal communication acumen
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Creative and resourceful mindset that thrives in entrepreneurial environments
  • Self-motivated with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm
  • Territory will include all areas West of the Mississippi River - candidate MUST reside in, or be willing to relocate to, this territory
  • Frequent overnight travel is required, often up to several hours of driving per day
