Experienced Critical Power Field Technician (UPS Field Engineer)
Your Impact:
Pearce/CBRE is seeking an Experienced Critical Power Field Technician (UPS Field Engineer) for Richmond, Virginia, and the surrounding areas, with a commitment to excellence and a strong desire to succeed and develop new skills. As an Experienced Critical Power Field Technician (UPS Field Engineer), you will directly support our customers in the onsite preventive, corrective, and restorative maintenance of their critical power systems (i.e., UPS, DC systems, inverters, PDUs, STS, and standalone reserve battery technologies). As a Senior UPS Field Service Engineer for Pearce from CBRE, you will possess and utilize the 'hit-the-ground-running' and 'think-outside-the-box' mentalities that drive swift and superb solutions to address our customers' needs.
Core Responsibilities:
Install electrical equipment such as small rack-mounted UPS equipment, various-sized batteries, and UPS/Battery monitoring equipment.
Maintain Battery Cabinets and racks, Maintenance Bypass, Battery Monitoring Equipment, DC Systems, and other electrical equipment.
Periodic and lifecycle-driven performance of remedial services, including failure analysis and troubleshooting, component replacements and repairs, and battery string replacements and installations.
Customer relationship building – Provide excellent customer service and upsell products.
Field troubleshooting calls from customers to a satisfactory resolution.
Quickly respond to critical situations.
Teach and mentor crew members on proper techniques for site work, troubleshooting, repair, and analyzing site data.
Isolate basic hardware, software, and interface malfunctions utilizing various test equipment on multiple products and technologies.
Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.
Core Experience
ATTN: This is a Experienced/Senior UPS Field Service Engineer Role. Only applicants with the following experience will be considered.

Prior military training in electronics or avionics (A School, AIT, etc.) preferred
Minimum of three (3) years serving in a third-party critical power field service or technical support role with a demonstrated progression in technical proficiency and capability -OR-
Minimum of five (5) years serving in an OEM service environment in the critical power space
Good understanding of AC/DC electrical principles.
Knowledge of test equipment operation, such as multi-meters, and battery test equipment
Read and interpret electronics schematics with the ability to troubleshoot failures/faults to the component level.
Understand and have experience enforcing compliance with FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations and standards.
Outstanding work ethic, punctuality, trustworthiness, and reliability – you will set the pace as a senior UPS/ Critical Power Engineer.
Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions within fast-paced changing priorities.

Generator Technician
Your Impact:

Our Generator Technicians service and repair commercial generators on cell phone towers in your region. This role is a great match for independent, self-starters who are willing to travel.
Core Responsibilities:
Maintaining generators, diagnosing and repairing problems, installing and replacing components or entire systems, and performing additional maintenance or upgrades on out-of-season equipment
Conducting performance checks and regular maintenance on generators to ensure proper readiness, reading and following blueprints or other design specifications to install or repair
Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, and other components, and test for proper operation
Be responsible for responding promptly/timely to Power/Generator alarms; have the ability to be on call 24/7 if necessary and respond promptly in answering assigned phone and email
Perform work with the awareness of all potential hazards connected with the installation and maintenance of power supply equipment, switching gear, and other equipment, including but not limited to falls, electric shock, falling objects, and traffic; use safety equipment and utilize safety practices; attend and participate in all designated safety and training meetings

Core Experience:
Two or more years of experience with generator maintenance is preferred and a minimum of one year of intense work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance-related software, hardware, and processes
Thorough knowledge of generator installations, maintenance, and repair of Generators; knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components; moderate computer skills
Basic knowledge of pertinent FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations
Physical/Work Environment:

This position requires lifting over 50 pounds, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and standing for long periods of time
Must have the ability to inspect and/or troubleshoot equipment/alarms effectively, both visually and audibly
Must be willing and able to drive long distances, workday, evening, or night hours; overtime, emergency callouts, weekends, and holidays as required; must assume 24-hour on-call duty when assigned and be gone from home for extended periods of time
Must be able to pass a DOT physical
Journeyman Electrician

Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and components (switchgear, panelboards, MCCs, transformers, lighting, controls).
Interpret and follow technical drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering specifications.
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, delivering safe, reliable repair solutions.
Ensure all work complies with NEC (NFPA70) standards and OSHA regulations.
Prepare accurate material takeoffs for project needs.
Collaborate with other trades to keep projects on schedule.
Provide mentorship and guidance to apprentices.
Maintain detailed records of work performed and materials used.
Travel as needed to project sites across the U.S.
