
AI Software Engineer - Discovery - SF
Perplexity is seeking Software Engineers to help build next generation of AI discovery experience. In this role, you'll bring different source of curated or LLM generated content and build discovery product solutions from infra to ML to bring them to all users to boost the engagement.
Responsibilities
- Build various types of user and content signals for content recommendation
- Build various types of query understanding models to power many different vertical contents including shopping, sports, finance and more
- Flexible to work across the entire recommendation system stack to deliver various types of models and contents to end users in a scalable and performant way
- Partner with Product manager and partner team engineers to ensure fast and high quality deliverable to end users
Qualifications
- Strong programming skills with the ability to work across the stack in a typical recommendation system or LLM stack
- Experience in training and productionizing DNN and Transformer architecture models
- Experience in working with other LLM APIs to complete tasks like fine tuning, prompt mining or prototyping new ideas
- Understands how to make tradeoffs in using different models
- Self-motivated with a willingness to take ownership of tasks
- A passion for shipping quality products
- 4+ years of industry experience
The cash compensation range for this role is $200,000 - $280,000.

Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including, experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
Equity: In addition to the base salary, equity is part of the total compensation package.
