About the Role:

We’re seeking a creative and experienced content strategist, writer, and editor to champion IPSY’s brand voice across every touchpoint. In this role, you’ll develop foundational messaging frameworks that guide the broader team while reviewing, refining, and elevating copy across marketing channels to ensure every piece aligns with our unique voice and meets the highest editorial standards. The ideal candidate is a meticulous editor with a sharp eye for detail, strong storytelling instincts, and a deep understanding of how brand voice translates across different platforms and formats. Bonus points if you quickly grasp IPSY’s business model and membership ecosystem, allowing you to deliver strategic edits so that copy is both compelling and aligned with our member journey and experience. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and take pride in shaping great writing through thoughtful editing and clear guidance.

  • Serve as a steward of IPSY’s brand voice, driving discipline and consistency in tone, language, and messaging.
  • Provide thoughtful editorial direction and copy guidance to a team of beauty editors and copywriters.
  • Partner with cross-functional partners across marketing, UX, design, merchandising, and more to bring campaigns to life and ensure messaging supports key business objectives.
  • Participate in project kickoffs, reviews, and other cross-functional meetings as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years experience in editorial, copywriting, or brand/content editing roles for beauty, fashion, or lifestyle brands (portfolio for review is required).
  • Exceptional editing and proofreading skills with a strong command of grammar, tone, and storytelling.
  • Subscription / membership experience -- experience writing, editing, and leading a team within this ecosystem.
  • Proven ability to quickly understand and uphold a brand’s voice, maintaining consistency across channels and formats.
  • Experience defining a brand voice and tone and serving as a guardian or champion of that brand voice and tone across all touch points
  • Experience reviewing and refining content across a variety of formats, and experience leading a team to do the same.
  • Ability to provide clear, constructive feedback that helps writers strengthen their work while maintaining brand standards.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic thinker who understands how editorial decisions support broader business and brand objectives.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
